On May 11, 2022, at 1556 hours Deputy Brisco and I were working traffic at Bankhead Hwy and Bankhead Hwy Connector when a Black Cadilac Escalade was picked up on the radar that Deputy Brisco was operating. The radar locked the vehicle at 58 MPH in a 35 MPH zone. I turned on my Emergency equipment (lights and siren) and initiated a traffic stop.

Once I approached the vehicle I made contact with a Hispanic Female who handed me a PassPort by the name of Ms. Rocio Lopez-Tovar. I asked her if she had her Country License on her and she stated “no”. I returned to my Patrol Vehicle and ran a GCIC/NCIC on the driver. The return came back that Ms. Lopez-Tovar was not licensed.

Deputy Brisco went up to the vehicle and asked how long Ms. Lopez-Tovar has been in the state. Ms. Lopez-Tovar stated’ 15 years. Ms. Lopez-Tovar was arrested for driving without a valid license and speeding.

Ms. Lopez-Tovar was searched incident to arrest, handcuffed behind her back, checked for fit, and doubled-locked. Ms. Lopez-Tovar was placed in the backseat of my patrol car and seatbelted in. Ms. Lopez Tovar was transported to the Barrow County Jail without incident.

Note* Ms. [REDACTED] DOB [REDACTED], a Licensed driver came and took the vehicle and children from the scene.

No audio/Video Available 2352 My Patrol Vehicle was checked before and after for contraband with none found.
