On 01/30/2023 Cpl. Hill A#165 and I, Ofc. Cureington H#155 were dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Hill St. Winder, GA 30680. I drove my patrol vehicle #405 to location code 1 (no emergency lights or sirens). Central Dispatch notified us that there was a fight, and one party had left the scene. The caller advised it was a fight between her and 2 minors that it had “got bad”. The caller also stated that she needed to be “locked up”.
Upon arrival I met with Tatiana Wright. I asked Tatiana what was happening, and she stated she got into a fist fight with her two cousins, [REDACTED BY AGENCY]-year-old [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY]-year-old [REDACTED BY AGENCY] . Tatiana stated the whole fight started when [REDACTED BY AGENCY] came outside while Tatiana was talking to her ex-boyfriend. Tatiana stated [REDACTED BY AGENCY] came outside and said “your ex-boyfriend is trying to get with me, and is texting me while you’re sitting beside him.” At this time Tatiana stated she went inside and grabbed a knife and threatened to kill the ex-boyfriend. Tatiana stated that the ex-boyfriend left the residence at this time. Tatiana stated she was still “p*ssed off” so she grabbed her water bottle and threw it at her cousin [REDACTED BY AGENCY] striking her in the head.
Tatiana stated that after Tatiana threw the water bottle she immediately sat on top of [REDACTED BY AGENCY] holding her down and started punching her. Tatiana stated while she was on top of [REDACTED BY AGENCY] punching her, her brother [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stood up and started punching Tatiana in the back of the head trying to get Tatiana off of [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. Tatiana stated she then started punching and hitting [REDACTED BY AGENCY] also when he started punching her in the back of the head. Tatiana also stated that [REDACTED BY AGENCY], [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and her all live together at this address. She further stated that they are constantly having incidents similar to the one that occurred this date.
At this time Tatiana was extremely upset and I had her sit in the back seat of my patrol vehicle. Cpl. Hill was speaking with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. I walked over to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] where they both stated exactly what had transpired identical to what Tatiana had stated. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had some red markings on her arms where she stated they were from Tatiana holding her down and not letting her get up and stated she got hit multiple times in her chest and head. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had two red marks that were already starting to bruise on his back, scratches and whelps on the right side of his neck area, and whelps on his elbows.
I then walked back to my patrol vehicle and got witness statement forms. I gave one to Tatiana to fill out, and one to [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. I then collected the witness statement forms which corroborated the story from all parties.
I then acquired my camera from my patrol vehicle and took pictures of all the hit marks and scratches on [REDACTED BY AGENCY], [REDACTED BY AGENCY], and Tatiana. I then was able to identify Tatiana as the predominate aggressor in the altercation based on all statements from all parties. I had probable cause to place Tatiana under arrest for one count of Simple Battery (family violence) for throwing the water bottle at [REDACTED BY AGENCY] striking her in the head, enticing the altercation. One count of False Imprisonment for holding her down and not allowing her to move freely. Two counts of Battery (family violence) for punching and striking both [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY], leaving red markings, whelps, and scratches on both.
I then got Tatiana out of the back seat of my patrol vehicle where I then told Tatiana that she was under arrest. I placed her in handcuffs, checked for proper fit, and double locked the handcuffs to insure they did not tighten any further. Cpl. Hill then did a search incident to arrest to check for any weapons, illegal contraband, or means of escape. Nothing was found on Tatiana’s person. Cpl. Hill and I then placed Tatiana in the back seat of my patrol vehicle and secured her with the seat belt.
I then provided the grandmother of all parties involved, [REDACTED], a business card with the case number, and also gave a business card to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] with the case number. [REDACTED], [REDACTED BY AGENCY], and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] were all provided a list of Victim area services in Winder/ Barrow County.
Upon handing out the cards and Victim area services, I drove my patrol vehicle to Barrow County Detention Center where Tatiana was turned over BCDC jailers.
Cpl. Hill and I went back in service at this time.
Pictures of JUVENILE Victims [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] will be attached to this report
My patrol vehicle was searched before and after the transport of Tatiana to BCDC for contraband with negative results.
My department issued body-cam #155 was worn. Cpl. Hill body-cam #165 was also worn and activated at this time.
