On Saturday, November 12, 2022, at approximately 0209 hours, I was dispatched to [500 BLOCK] Somerset Club Drive in reference to a unknown problem.

Upon arrival, I made contact with Deoncus Gamble at the front door. She was hysterically screaming and fell to the ground where she continued to cry. I could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath and her speech was slurred. Initially, I was not able to get her to calm down enough to tell me what happened. She was finally able to calm herself down enough to speak.

Deoncus advised she left the residence at approximately 0000 hours and went to a bar in Cartersville where she consumed alcohol. She still had the arm band on her wrist from the bar. She advised she returned home at approximately 0200 hours. Upon entering the residence, she noticed that he daughter, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was awake. She advised that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was upset about being left at home with her two brothers, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and told Deoncus that they had an argument. Deoncus advised that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] then attacked her.

I observed that Deoncus had a swollen lip and a scratch on her left arm.

I then made contact with [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. She advised that her mother left the residence and her brothers were asleep. She advised she was in the kitchen making food when her mother returned home. She advised that Deoncus started to scream at her and ask why she was awake. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had a towel in her hand and Deoncus asked what she was holding. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] told her it was a towel. Deoncus then called her sister, [WITNESS #1]. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised that Deoncus pushed her to the ground and started to punch her. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised she fought back in self defense and was able to get Deoncus off of her and go to her room.

I observed that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] right eye was swollen and discolored. She had a scratch to her left eye lid, face, and chest area. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] also had a wound on her finger and reported that Deoncus bit her. I noticed a plate of food on the floor in the dining room area and other items around the kitchen that had been knocked over.

I met with [WITNESS #1]. She advised me that she and Deoncus went to a local bar in Cartersville at approximately 0000 hours. She advised they took a cab from the bar back to Deoncus residence. Deoncus went inside and she took the cab to her residence. She advised that once she arrived home, Deoncus called her. She could hear Deoncus verbally assaulting [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and heard the exchange about the towel. She then heard Deoncus say something like move girl in an aggressive tone and then she heard screaming and background noise. She advised she called for a cab and came to the residence.

[WITNESS #1] advised that Deoncus had a history of attacking [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [WITNESS #1] had also been drinking so she called her mother, [WITNESS #2], to come to the location.

[WITNESS #2] arrived a short time later. I met with her and advised her of what happened. She advised that Deoncus had been arrested three years ago for the same offenses against [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. She agreed to stay on scene with the children until DFCS arrived.

Deoncus was placed under arrest and transported to the jail for processing Deoncus was combative with me while on scene and continued to be aggressive and combative upon her arrival at the jail.

I notified DFCS using the 1855-GA-CHILD. I spoke to [REDACTED] who advised she would be en route. Once Ms. [REDACTED] arrived, she met with [WITNESS #2] and completed a safety plan for the children.

The two other children, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] slept through the incident and were not interviewed by me. Ms. [REDACTED] advised she would interview them before leaving the residence.

A criminal history was ran on Deoncus. She was charged with cruelty to children in the first degree and battery FVA in 2019 and is still awaiting trial.

I obtained warrants for Deoncus for cruelty to children in the first degree and battery FVA.

Pictures of [REDACTED BY AGENCY] injuries were taken while on scene.
