On Wednesday, June 29th, 2022, at approximately 0331 hours, while patrolling the area of Joe Frank Harris Parkway and Market Place, I observed a black Volkswagen with no tag. I conducted a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle.
Upon approaching the vehicle I made contact with the driver, who stated his name was William Bailey. The vehicle was observed to have California temporary tags in the front and back windshield.
The tags were ran through GCIC and had no return. The driver then presented me with a Georgia vehicle registration document for the vehicle. The registration information had spelling errors and was found to be fake. The tags were found to be fake and the driver did not return through GCIC. The driver then admitted he was actually Mr. Myles Norris.
Mr. Norris was placed under arrest by handcuffs behind the back. Handcuffs were checked for fit and double locked for safety. The correct license plate was observed in the back floor board, out of New Jersey. Mr. Norris was found to have a suspended drivers license out of New York.
The vehicle was impounded and towed on scene. Mr. Norris was transported to Bartow County Jail, where he was left in their custody. My issued marked vehicle was checked at the start of shift, before and after each transport and was negative of contraband.
I obtained warrants for driving with a suspended license, failure to register vehicle, affixing a tag to conceal identity, and false name/D.O.B.
