On Sunday, May 15, 2022, at approximately 0018 hours, I responded to 160 Wansley Drive (Mike Moore Plumbing) in reference to a fight that just occurred. Prior to my arrival, Bartow County Dispatch advised me that the suspect “Tony Lingerfelt” pulled a knife on the victim and left in a Yellow Toyota FJ Cruiser.
Upon my arrival, I made contact with the victim, Mr. [VICTIM #1], and a witness, Ms. [WITNESS #1]. Ms. [WITNESS #1] stated she was stocking Mr. [VICTIM #1]’s truck when “Tony” arrived. Ms. [WITNESS #1] stated an argument broke out between “Tony” and Mr. [VICTIM #1].
Ms. [WITNESS #1] stated Mr. [VICTIM #1] asked him to leave the property and “Tony” pushed Mr. [VICTIM #1] to the ground. Ms. [WITNESS #1] stated “Tony” then pulled a knife from his pocket and began to charge Mr. [VICTIM #1]. Ms. [WITNESS #1] confirmed “Tony” to be Mr. Ralph Lingerfelt. Ms. [WITNESS #1] completed a witness statement form which was added into evidence.
Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated he knows Mr. Lingerfelt from previous jobs. Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated Mr. Lingerfelt was there to show him various dash cameras and rifle scopes. Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated an argument broke out and he asked Mr. Lingerfelt to leave the property.
Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated Mr. Lingerfelt pushed him to the ground and drew a small knife from his left pants pocket and began to approach him in an aggressive manner. Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated his lower back and left hip hurt from hitting the ground. Mr. [VICTIM #1] refused EMS treatment on scene.
Mr. [VICTIM #1] was able to provide video footage of the incident. I observed in the video footage an argument between Mr. [VICTIM #1] and Mr. Lingerfelt. I observed Mr. Lingerfelt shove Mr. [VICTIM #1] to the ground, retrieve a knife from his left pocket, unfold it, and approach Mr. [VICTIM #1] in an aggressive manner. Video was taken of the incident and entered into evidence.
Warrants were obtained on Mr. Lingerfelt for Aggravated Assault (CE-0153415) and Simple Battery (CE-0153416). All statements were captured on my body worn camera.
On Monday, May 16, 2022, I reviewed the initial incident report and learned arrest warrants were issued for Ralph Lingerfelt in this case.
Inv. Herron and I met with Lt. Bowden of the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office and arrived at [10 BLOCK] Lusk Avenue, Cartersville, GA, in an effort to place Mr. Lingerfelt under arrest. As I entered the driveway, I observed a yellow in color Toyota FJ Cruiser (no tag) parked on the side of the driveway.
As Inv. Herron approached the front door, Mr. Lingerfelt was exiting. Inv. Herron placed Mr. Lingerfelt into handcuffs behind his back. The cuffs were double-locked and checked for a safe fit. Mr. Lingerfelt was searched for contraband and none was located.
Cartersville Dispatch confirmed the validity of the arrest warrants and I placed Mr. Lingerfelt in the rear of my vehicle. Mr. Lingerfelt stated to me “I need to talk to you about that guy [victim/ [VICTIM #1]]. I just pushed him.”
During the transport, Mr. Lingerfelt stated he wanted to give his statement regarding the alleged incident. Inv. Herron activated a recording device and advised Mr. Lingerfelt of his rights. Mr. Lingerfelt waived his rights and agreed to speak with me.
Mr. Lingerfelt stated he went to Mr. [VICTIM #1]’s place of business to sell him a diagnostics machine and he encountered a male named [REDACTED]. Mr. Lingerfelt and [REDACTED] had previously been in arguments regarding a stolen car.
During Mr. Lingerfelt’s argument with [REDACTED], Mr. [VICTIM #1] stepped in between the two and “acted like he was getting a gun out.” Mr. Lingerfelt stated he “just pushed him [[VICTIM #1]] down and left.”

Mr. Lingerfelt also stated “I don’t know if he [[VICTIM #1]] even had a gun or not but it looked like he was trying to get a gun out from behind his back.” The interview was concluded a an audio copy was uploaded into the case file.
Mr. Lingerfelt was transported to the Bartow County Jail without incident. My vehicle was searched prior to and subsequent to the transport and no contraband was located. Mr. Lingerfelt was turned over to the jail staff to await bond.
