On the morning of October 05, 2022 at approximately 1004 hours, I, Sgt. B. Smith, employed by the Adairsville Police Department, Uniformed Patrol Division was contacted by Det. G. Daffron, who requested my presence at [100 BLOCK] B Martin Luther King Dr. Adairsville, Ga. 30103 in reference to assisting with a DFCS case.

Upon my arrival, I met with Det. Daffron who advised me of the situation. Det. Daffron and I then entered the residence to request that everyone step outside and to secure the residence in order for Det. Daffron to obtain a search warrant. Due to [REDACTED] advising that she observed a firearm on the floor of the residence I advised Mr. Willie Hatcher, that I needed to conduct a pat-down search for any weapons. Willie Hatcher tried to place his hands in the vicinity of his pockets and I had to instruct him to keep his hands away from his pockets.

While conducting a pat down search for weapons I located a glass smoking device with a bulbous end which contained what appeared to be suspected methamphetamine residue. Mr. Hatcher was then escorted outside and allowed to smoke a cigarette. Upon securing the residence, Mr. Hatcher was advised that he was under arrest for the Possession of Methamphetamine, OCGA 16-13-30(a) and Possession and Use of Drug Related Objects, OCGA 16-13-32.2.

Mr. Hatcher was then handcuffed with his hands behind his back. The handcuffs were checked for proper fitment and double locked to prevent further tightening. Mr. Hatcher was then transported to the Bartow County Adult Detention Center by Ofc. S. Rickett, where he was transferred to the custody of the Bartow County Sheriff’s office without incident.
