On October 28th, 2022 I responded to [6400 BLOCK] Zebulon Road in reference to a domestic dispute that was upgraded to a person shot while I was in route.
When I arrived contact was made with the victim who was inside of apartment [REDACTED] laying on his back on the living room floor of the apartment with a gunshot wound to his right leg. The victim identified himself as [VICTIM #1] and was responsive during the whole incident. EMS arrived and transported him to the hospital before a statement could be given by [VICTIM #1] on what happened.
[WITNESS #1] was also in the apartment when the incident occured and was able to give a statement. [WITNESS #1] advised that he was called to the apartment by his sister that he does not live there. He stated that she told him that the suspect Cameron Washington was in the aparment going crazy tearing up things and she wanted him to calm Cameron down.
When he arrived him and Cameron got into a fight in the back bedroom and that during the fight Cameron pulled out a gun and fired shots into the wall. One of the shots struck [VICTIM #1] who was in a seperate room in the apartment. He advised that him and Cameron the struggled over the gun and that when he got the gun from Cameron, Cameron fled on foot. After Cameron left he cleared the gun and put it in a closet in the front bedroom of the apartment.
[WITNESS #2] was also on scene at the apartment. She advised that she was outside when the altercation took place and did not see what happened but she heard the shots and saw Cameron flee on foot towards the front gate of the apartment complex. After speaking with all parties I retrieved the gun from the closet in the bedroom and had it ran through NCIC by dispatchers. Dispatchers advised that the gun was reported stolen (Case #903508A).
The gun was a Taurus G3 9mm serial number ACK433051 and will be placed in the crime lab since it is evidence and reported stolen. Contact was made with investigators in reference to the incident as well as Lt. Garrison. Warrants will be taken out for Cameron Washington in reference to the Aggravated Assault as well as for the stolen gun.
