New School Leads to Redistricting in South Bryan County

As preparations get underway in the Bryan County School District to open a new elementary school, it was announced that some students are to be redistricted. 

There has been an increase of 11% in the student population and construction of the Frances Meeks Elementary School has begun to accommodate this growth. The new school will accommodate 1,200 students from pre-Kindergarten up to 5th Grade and is due to open in August 2020.

The Board of Education is now redistricting for elementary students by creating new lines in South Bryan. As a result, the Board will be holding 2 community forums in the area to get the community’s opinions about how best to redistrict to meet their needs.  The meetings will be held at Richmond Hill Middle School on November 14th and December 12th, starting at 7 pm.
