On January 8, 2021 at approximately 2347 hours, I, Deputy Young, responded to [700 BLOCK] Alabama St. Carrollton, GA. 30116 in reference to an attempted stabbing and a possible shooting that occurred at [400 BLOCK] N Hwy 113 Carrollton, Ga. 30116. Upon my arrival, I made contact with Arnesha Heggs (offender), [WITNESS #1], [WITNESS #2], [WITNESS #3] and [WITNESS #4].

I spoke with Arnesha Heggs who stated that she had shot a few rounds at a female, Shanequa Bolton, who she thought was trying to stab her while they were at a gathering at [400 BLOCK] N Hwy 113. Arnesha stated that Shanequa Bolton is her ex-girlfriend. She stated that Bolton had been coming around and causing issues and that she had actually filed a report earlier in the day through the county (Case Number 202201000962). She stated that they had been at her aunt’s house on Martin Luther King St. and they noticed a red Chrysler 300 drive by multiple times. She stated that they had left there and went to [400 BLOCK] N Hwy 113. She stated that they were there approximately 20 minutes and that is when Shanequa Bolton arrived (in the red Chrysler 300) and attacked [WITNESS #1].

She stated that Shanequa Bolton began coming after her and swinging something around (she believed to be a knife) and making threats about cutting her up. Arnesha stated that she told Bolton to stop or she would shoot her. She stated Bolton continued coming after her and that is when she pointed her gun at Bolton and attempted to shoot her. She stated that she was unsure if Bolton was hit but that she heard someone yell that they had been shot. She stated that she left to get away and that is when she called 911. Arnesha took me inside to where the gun used was located. I made the gun safe and collected it as evidence. The gun was a 380 Bersa with serial number K72706.

While I was out at Alabama St. dispatch advised that Tanner Hospital in Carrollton had called advising that they had a gun shot victim. At the time, I had only really spoke with Arnesha and had gathered the witnesses information. I was advised that Investigations would be en route.

I asked if there were any other guns in the house. [WITNESS #3] stated that he had two guns. He stated that there was one in his belt line and there was one in his vehicle. I collected the gun from [WITNESS #3]’s belt line and made it safe. The gun was collected for evidence. It was a 9mm Taurus serial number TKU65875. The gun in his vehicle was identified and was not needed as evidence. While on scene, I asked [WITNESS #1] if she was okay since she had been jumped. She stated she was okay. She showed me where her braid had been pulled out of her head. I photographed this for report purposes.

Sgt. Cornell advised to have everyone that was involved go to the Sheriff’s Office to meet with investigations. We all relocated to the Sheriff’s Office where I turned them over to Inv. McCormick #979.

I turned the two guns and one .380 magazine over to the crime scene investigator Holcomb at the Sheriff’s Office. Nothing further at this time.
