On March 05, 2023, at 0350 hours, I responded at [SINGLE DIGIT BLOCK] Inspiration Way in regards to a Battery DVA.
When I arrived on the scene, I contacted the reporting party, Ms. [VICTIM #1]. Ms. [VICTIM #1] advised approximately 0345 hours, her daughter (Ms. Amariya Smith) returned home intoxicated. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated Ms. Amariya attempted to grab her daughter ([REDACTED]) to take her but she refused due to her being intoxicated. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated Ms. Amariya then punched her in the face and left the residence.
I contacted Ms. Amariya Smith in regard to the incident. Ms. Smith advised she returned home from a party and wanted to get her daughter from her mother (Ms. [VICTIM #1]) but she refused. Ms. Smith advised she then left to get a hotel. Ms. Smith advised she was drinking Hennesy tonight.
Based on the statements made by Ms. [VICTIM #1] and Ms. Amariya, I determined Ms. Amariya to be the primary aggressor. Ms. Amariya was placed in double-locked handcuffs and searched incident to arrest. She was then transported to Memorial Medical Center and received medical clearance from medical personnel. She was then transported to CCDC and transferred into the custody of corrections staff.
Ms. [VICTIM #1] did have visible bruising under her right eye but refused EMS due to leaving the scene. A DVA lethality screening was not performed due to Ms. [VICTIM #1] leaving the scene.
I placed a CRN card in between Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s residence door.
