On April 4, 2023, at approximately 1355 hours, I responded to the intersection of AMARANTH AVE AND BULLOCH ST about a domestic with injuries.
Upon arriving at the scene, I could not locate the complainant, so I called the number attached to the call. Ms. [VICTIM #1] said she was no longer at the location but in room [REDACTED] of the Deluxe Inn (3680 OGEECHEE RD). I made my way to the Deluxe Inn and contacted Ms. [VICTIM #1].
Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that she and the suspect (MR. BLAINE DUNBAR) had been arguing all day over the phone about their living situation and that Mr. Blaine was at his friend’s house somewhere near the intersection of Amaranth Ave and Bulloch St. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that she went over there to give Mr. Dunbar his work outfit.
Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that when she and Mr. Dunbar saw each other, they started yelling. Ms. [VICTIM #1] noted that at one point, she threw an empty container of Kool-Aid at Mr. Dunbar. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that after this, she attempted to get into her vehicle, but Mr. Dunbar grabbed her by the throat with his right hand and applied pressure, making it hard for her to breathe.
Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that Mr. Dunbar held her like this for approximately two minutes. Ms. [VICTIM #1] said she got light-headed during this time but did not pass out. After about two minutes, Mr. Dunbar let go and entered one of the residences at or near the intersection. It was at this point that Ms. [VICTIM #1] called the police.
I noticed redness on Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s neck during my interview with her. I took a photo and uploaded it to Evidence.com. I also requested a supervisor at the Deluxe Inn (SGT R SMITH).
EMS responded to the scene and checked Ms. [VICTIM #1]. Detectives arrived as well.
This report concludes my involvement.
