On the 10th of September 2023 at approximately 20:51 hours I (CPL Rosado) responded to a call for service at [2200 BLOCK] Beaumont Drive, Savannah, regarding an Affray that originated as a Firearm Discharge Call. The call was aired by officers from the Chatham County Police Department.

Upon arrival, contact was made with the involved subjects, who were identified as [WITNESS #1], [WITNESS #2] and [WITNESS #3]. Contact was also made some of the individuals involved in the actual fight from both sides, who were identified as [VICTIM #1], [VICTIM #2], [VICTIM #3], Nazarah Anderson and Brittney Dean. A firearm was also confiscated by C.C.P.D. officers on scene at the time of the event (Please refer to CRN CCPD 230910021 for more information.).

Ms. [WITNESS #1] stated she was in her residence taking a shower when her son told her there were two individuals outside the residence. She said she told her son to let them wait, but was told it was an emergency by the two individuals. She said she put a robe on and walked to her front door, which is when she saw Ms. [WITNESS #2] and Mr. [WITNESS #3]. standing outside.

She said they had a conversation about an issue between their children and how they wished to mediate the matter to prevent any altercation between the families. She said during the conversation, her daughter and her friends exited the residence just as Ms. Nazarah and Ms. Brittney arrived at the location in a black SUV. She said they, along with another female, exited the vehicle and began to have a physical altercation with her daughter and her friends.

Ms. [WITNESS #1] then stated as this occurred, she, Ms. [WITNESS #2] and Mr. [WITNESS #3] tried to separate the parties from further engaging in the fight. However, as this occurred, she said a male exited the SUV and procured a firearm from his waistband. She said this is when she went back inside the residence, procured her personal firearm, exited the residence, and discharged a single round in the air to disperse the crowd.

She said this is when the male and other female returned into the SUV, fleeing the location heading west on Beaumont Drive towards the intersection of Skidaway Road. She said Ms. Nazarah and Ms. Brittney were left behind by the two in the SUV. She said just as this occurred, C.C.P.D. officers arrived and began speaking with all parties involved.

She said during this time, her firearm was confiscated by C.C.P.D. officers and was held by them until Savanah Police Department officers arrived on scene. Upon further inquiry, she clarified that the firearm the male had was not pointed at anyone at the location during the event.

Ms. [WITNESS #2] stated she arrived at the location to speak with Ms. [WITNESS #1] about an ongoing issue between her granddaughter and her daughter. She said she arrived at the location and began to speak with her after she answered the door to try to come up with a peaceful solution. She said during this time, Ms. [VICTIM #1], Ms. [VICTIM #2] and Ms. [VICTIM #3] exited the residence and began to argue with her.

She said this is when a black SUV came to the location and Ms. Christina, Ms. Nazarah and Ms. Brittney exited it to start a physical altercation with Ms. [VICTIM #1], Ms. [VICTIM #2] and Ms. [VICTIM #3]. She said she tried to help separate the parties with Ms. [WITNESS #1] and Mr. [WITNESS #3]. She said as this occurred, she heard a single firearm discharge, which caused everyone to flee from the location. She said as this occurred, both Ms. Nazarah and Ms. Brittney were left behind with them.

Upon further inquiry, she said they did not see any male with a firearm during this time and only claims Ms. [WITNESS #1] had possession of a firearm, which was the one used during the event.

Mr. [WITNESS #3] stated he was made aware of the issue occurring between Ms. [VICTIM #1] and Ms. Christina, which prompted him and to drive around the area to see if he could locate them or if a fight might occur. He said he arrived at the residence after he saw Ms. [WITNESS #2] standing by the front porch of the residence. He said he approached and waited with her until Ms. [WITNESS #2] opened the door.

He said they both tried to speak to her about the matter in order to deescalate it, but this is when Ms. [VICTIM #1], Ms. [VICTIM #2], and Ms. [VICTIM #3] exited the residence and began a verbal argument. He said soon after, a black SUV arrived at the location and Ms. Christina, Ms. Nazarah and Ms. Brittney exited.

He said this is when the physical altercation began, which caused him to triy and help separate the parties with Ms. [WITNESS #1] and Ms. [WITNESS #2]. However, as this occurred, he heard a single firearm discharge. He said this is when everyone ran away from the location, but both Ms. Nazarah and Ms. Brittney were left with them.

Upon further inquiry, he said they did not see any male with a firearm during this time and only claims Ms. [WITNESS #1] had possession of a firearm, which was the one used during the event.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated she was away from home and began to receive messages from an ex-friend, who was identified as Tyana Christina. She said they had an argument over a boy they both were in a possible relationship with. She said she tried to disengage, but the argument continued to develop more as she was a sent a text that Ms. Tyana would “- pull up.”.

She said she responded to her by telling her to come to the residence. She said this is when she drove back to her residence, but no one was there at the time. However, she said Ms. Christina arrived with some of her friends in a black SUV, got out of the vehicle, and began to have a physical altercation with her.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] then stated during the fight, she observed a black male exit the vehicle and procured a firearm, claiming it was a “Draco” (possibly referring to a Romanian made pistol that resembles a smaller sized rifle). She said this is when her mother discharged a single round from a firearm in the air, causing the fight to end as the male and Ms. Christina ran into the SUV.

She said the ones in the SUV fled the area while leaving both Ms. Nazarah and Ms. Brittney at the location. Ms. [VICTIM #1] did not appear to have any physical injuries on her person during the investigation. Upon further inquiry, she claims she only saw the firearm, but it was not pointed at anyone during the event.

Both Ms. Nazarah and Ms. Brittney stated the event initially occurred when they were in a black SUV with Ms. Christina and were going to dinner at an unknown location. She said the driver, who they identified as Tommy Lee Speir Jr, stopped at Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s residence and exited the vehicle to confront her.

They said this is when Ms. [VICTIM #1] began a physical altercation, which prompted them to exit the vehicle and fight as well. They said this is when Ms. [WITNESS #1] discharged a firearm into the air, which caused everyone to run away. They said they were unable to go back to the SUV as Ms. Christina and Mr. Tommy Jr fled from the location in it.

Both Ms. Nazarah and Ms. Brittney then stated that Ms. Brittney’s smartphone was left in the SUV and was pinging at [2100 BLOCK] Teresa Drive, Savannah, which is several blocks north from the location. They said they tried to call Ms. Christina to come back to the location to speak with officers, but she didn’t do so during the duration of the investigation. Both Ms. Nazarah and Ms. Brittney did not appear to have any physical injuries on her person during the investigation.

Upon further inquiry, they said Mr. Tommy Jr did not have a firearm present during the event. However, they did deviate from their initial statement regarding how many people were with them and disclosed there may have been more men in the SUV when the event occurred.

With the information gathered from all parties, the determination was made that Ms. Christina, Ms. Nazarah, Ms. Brittney and Mr. Tommy Jr. were the predominate aggressors. This disposition was made due to them purposefully arriving at the residence to engage Ms. [VICTIM #1] and her family/friends in a physical altercation. The disposition was further reinforced by the fact that when they had no true reason to be there and could have left at any point before it became physical.

Both Ms. Nazarah and Ms. Brittney were placed in double locked hand cuffs, searched and placed in the rear prisoner compartment of my patrol vehicle. Ms. [WITNESS #1], Ms. [REDACTED] and Ms. [REDACTED] were furnished a CRN card and advised of the legal remedies.

Both Ms. Nazarah and Ms. Brittney were transported to Memorial Medical Center located at 4700 Waters Avenue, Savannah, to be medically examined and discharged. They were then transported to the Chatham County Detention Center without further issue. Both Ms. Nazarah and Ms. Brittney were charged with an Affray under violation of O.C.G.A. 16-11-32. However, Ms. Christina and Mr. Tommy were not arrested due to not being at the scene during the investigation.

Extra Patrol was placed for the residence along with three Handle With Care Notifications for Ms. [VICTIM #1], Ms. [VICTIM #2] and Ms. [VICTIM #3]. Ms. [WITNESS #1]’s firearm was returned to her, and the call was cleared shortly afterwards.

It is worth noting that Mr. [WITNESS #3] did not wish to disclose any information regarding Mr. Tommy Jr. and was reluctant to assist any further in the investigation.

A Watch Supervisor was notified, which SGT Petit and SGT Farmer responded.
