At 1348 hours on 11/04/2021, I was dispatched to The University of Georgia Tate Plaza (45 Baxter Street, Athens, GA 30602) in reference to a stolen flag. I arrived on scene and made contact with the caller, Chad [VICTIM #1] Director of UGA Pride Center.
[VICTIM #1] stated that an unknown individual unlawfully and without authority stole a progressive pride flag from a concrete planter on Tate Plaza. [VICTIM #1] stated that the theft occurred between 1000-1104 hours on 11/04/2021.
[VICTIM #1] stated that the Pride Center is responsible for management of the planter and gained permission to place the flag in the planter. [VICTIM #1] stated that the cost of the flag was $9.00. The total loss to the victim is $9.00.
I gave [VICTIM #1] a case reference card. My Taser Axon camera was activated and captured my investigation of this incident.
