On 4/20/2022, at 0725 hours, I responded to [100 BLOCK] Teal Pl. in reference to a reported family dispute.
White en-route, I was advised that [VICTIM #1] ([REDACTED]) had called 911 in reference to her daughter Chloe Merritt ([REDACTED]). Chloe had moved out of the house yesterday after a dispute and had advised her mother she wanted to come get her stuff. Ms. [VICTIM #1] was at work and multiple children were at the residence with their grandmother.
Concerned about Chloe’s recent behavior, she told her to wait until she got home after work. Chloe became upset and threatened to break a door down. Ms. [VICTIM #1] continued advising her to come over after she got home from work and Chloe refused.
Scared of Chloe and her past behavior, Ms. [VICTIM #1] called 911 and left work immediately. Chloe arrived on scene and [REDACTED] ([REDACTED]) and [REDACTED] ([REDACTED]) hid in their bedroom because they were scared of Chloe. [REDACTED] ([REDACTED]) and [REDACTED] ([REDACTED]) hid in all upstairs bathroom.
Grandmother [WITNESS #1] ([REDACTED]) told me she was in the kitchen and saw Chloe go up onto the back deck and take an approximately 5′ 1 x 4 and strike the back door. This caused the class insert in the door to shatter. As a result, the back glass shattered and she was able to reach inside and unlock the door.
When I arrived on scene, I found Chloe in her old bedroom with a laceration to her hand. She immediately told me to take her to jail and she was detained. I placed her in handcuffs in front due to her injury. EMS was called and they arrived on scene and treated her laceration advising that it was superficial and needed to further treatment. Upon further investigation, Chloe was arrested.
[VICTIM #1] arrived on scene and was very upset. She told me that Chloe had moved out yesterday and wanted to get her stuff out. She knew not to come back to the house unless she was there and she attempted to communicate with her brothers to gain entry. She advised me that the cost of the backdoor was at least $1500 dollars. She was provided a card with this case number.
Chloe was transported to Coweta County Jail without incident where she was turned over to jail staff. She was charged with Criminal Damage to Property 2nd – Family Violence (OCGA 16-7-23), A warrantless affidavit was completed as well as a Victim Notification Form.
Nothing further at this time.
