On 05/06/2020 at approximately 2113hrs I, Deputy Walker, responded to [700 BLOCK] Smokey Rd in reference to an Aggravated Assault with a Firearm at 127 W HIGHWAY 34, Neighbors Market. Upon my arrival to [700 BLOCK] Smokey Rd I met with the victim, [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated on 05/06/2020 at approximately 0900hrs he had gone into Neighbors Market to get gas. At that time he had parked his White Tacoma ([REDACTED]) on pump 2 and entered the business. As [REDACTED BY AGENCY] entered the business he had noticed a suspicious white male exiting the business and crossed eyes. He continued to the cash register and went about his business.

After [REDACTED BY AGENCY] finished inside the business he had gone back out to his truck. At that time he overheard the suspicious white male talking on FaceTime about doing something. He then heard the store owner yell at the male to leave and to not do anything dangerous. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] began to feel uneasy about the man and began to pull away from the pumps.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that he had pulled into the pumps facing Welcome Rd and he had approached the Welcome Rd exit further from the Welcome Rd and W Highway 34 stop sign. At that time [REDACTED BY AGENCY] observed the male drive up behind him slowly with his door still cracked. He then noticed an AR style rifle hanging out the door with a large black cylinder on the end of it.

He then heard a pop and a ding where a round had struck the rear of his vehicle. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] immediately sped off onto Welcome Rd toward the GA 34 Bypass Bridge. He stated that he was not followed and did not know the offender’s direction of travel.

After the above information [REDACTED BY AGENCY] gave a physical description of the offender. The offender appeared to be a Caucasian male, with short dark hair, facial hair, a white t-shirt, black sweat pants, black socks with Adidas Flip Flops, black with white stripes. The offender was driving a dark red Ford F-150 with an older body style and damage to the front driver side fender.

At that time I issued [REDACTED BY AGENCY] a case number and advised him that I would follow up further with Neighbors Market. An additional supplement will be completed with my follow up at 127 W Highway 34.
