On November 2, 2021 I (DFC Gilbert) was working patrol on I 85. I observed a Blue Honda Pilot drive by me with dark window tint. I pulled out onto the interstate and pulled up next to the Honda Pilot. I observed that the tint appeared to be darker tint that was is allowed by law. I initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle at the 36 mile marker of I 85. The tag on the vehicle is [REDACTED] out of Texas.

I walked up to the vehicle and advised the driver of the reason for the traffic stop. I then asked him for his drivers license and identified him as Denilson Aviles Pena. When he handed me his drivers license I observed that it was only an identification card. I then asked him if he had a drivers license and he stated that he did not.

I then asked him to step outside the vehicle and walk back to my vehicle. When he walked back to my vehicle, I ran his drivers license and seen that it was an identification card only. I had walked back up to the vehicle and used my tint meter and got a reading of 19%. I then walked back to him and advised him that he was under arrest.

I placed him in handcuffs and placed him in the backseat of my patrol vehicle. I then advised dispatch to start me a wrecker. Denilson was transported to the Coweta County Jail without incident. The vehicle was turned over to Johnnys.
