On 6/26/2022, at approximately 2235 hours, I observed a vehicle traveling on Summergrove Pkwy perform an improper turn and initiated a traffic stop. Wilson quickly went through the left turn when making a U-turn and turned into the far lane instead of the inside lane.

I made contact with the driver, Omari Wilson, and advised him of the reason for the traffic stop. I GCIC check of Wilson’s driver’s license returned suspended for Implied Consent as of 12/22/2021. Upon the arrival of backup, I had Wilson exit his vehicle where he was detained in handcuffs behind his back. They were checked for a proper fit and double locked and he was placed in the cleared backseat of my patrol car. A GCIC check of the passenger returned that he did not have a valid license to take possession of the vehicle and dispatch confirmed Wilson’s license was suspended.

The next list wrecker was requested and a vehicle inventory was started. Wilson’s parents arrived on scene and took possession of the vehicle and the wrecker was cancelled. Wilson was transported to Coweta County Jail without incident and turned over to jail staff. He was issued citations for Improper Turn and Suspended License. Wilson was served a notice of suspension and his license was returned to the state of Georgia. A copy of his citations and this form were placed in his property.
