In normal patrol mode I responded to [500 block] 8th Ave. in reference to a Theft By Taking.

Upon arriving I made contact with [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] stated that he and friend, Lindsey Wren came to his home after getting something to
eat.

[VICTIM #1] stated that after they had got settled Wren told him that she left her cigarettes in [VICTIM #1]’s truck.

[VICTIM #1] said he gave Wren the keys to go get the cigarettes out. [VICTIM #1] said Wren then brought the keys back in
and said she had to go.

[VICTIM #1] stated that he then went out to the truck and noticed that his Ziplock bag containing $1600.00 was gone. [VICTIM #1] stated that he was collecting the rent for his rental property and had it inside of the truck to deposit into the bank.

[VICTIM #1] stated that Wren had on a red shirt and black leggings. [VICTIM #1] did not provide a written statement regarding the event. I canvassed the area looking for a possible suspect to match the description with negative results.

This case will be forwarded to investigations.
