I (Ptl. Newberry) responded in normal patrol mode to [2000 BLOCK] Avalon Ave.
Upon arrival, I made contact with [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] started that she was walking about to leave the residence to go to work. [VICTIM #1] started that she accidentally locked her room door inside of the residence. [VICTIM #1] stated that she went to go get something to unlock her room door. [VICTIM #1] stated that her aunt (Rosetta Terry) became upset about the door being locked.
[VICTIM #1] started that Terry said, “Get out of my house; I want you out of my house; I’m going to kill you; Imma kill you; Get out!” [VICTIM #1] stated that she immediately called the police because she [VICTIM #1] believes that Terry would do something of that nature, due to prior incidents that involve her [Terry] and [REDACTED] (see case #22-004433).
I made contact with Rosetta Terry. Terry started that [VICTIM #1] is upset with her because she [Terry] is not going to allow [VICTIM #1] to take advantage of her [Terry]. Terry did not admit or deny the allegation of her [Terry] saying that she would kill [VICTIM #1]. There are no witnesses; however, [VICTIM #1] advised that she was on the phone with [WITNESS #1] when Terry made the threats.
I made contact with [WITNESS #1]. [WITNESS #1] stated that she overheard Terry say that she [Terry] would kill [VICTIM #1], while they [VICTIM #1] and [WITNESS #1] were on the phone. Terry was detained, placed in handcuffs (double-locked) to the rear, and transported to 201 W Oglethorpe Blvd (Law Enforcement Center). Sgt. Hart was notified of the incident.
This incident was recorded on my department issued body camera. This case is domestic in nature, due to Terry and [VICTIM #1] living together. This case was turned over to Cpl. S. Price in Investigations.
