I responded in normal mode to 417 W 3rd Ave (Phoebe) in reference to discharging firearms. I made contact with a black 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe (GA tag: [REDACTED]) occupied by [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] advised she and [VICTIM #2] (boyfriend) went to get ice from the ice machine at Independence Dr./Sylvester Hwy. [VICTIM #1] advised the vehicle was parked at an angle with the passenger’s side close to the ice dispenser.

[VICTIM #1] advised as [VICTIM #2] walked around the front of the vehicle, she saw him wave at a red truck that was turning left onto Independence Dr. [VICTIM #1] advised she observed [VICTIM #2] put the money into the machine and soon after, she heard approximately 4-5 shots. [VICTIM #1] advised she observed [VICTIM #2] duck down and appear to run.

[VICTIM #1] advised she jumped into the driver’s seat and drove towards the Law Enforcement Center. [VICTIM #1] advised she was afraid to stop at the Law Enforcement Center because she was unsure as to whether or not the shooters followed her. [VICTIM #1] advised she began having trouble breathing and drove to the Emergency Room (Phoebe).

Sgt. Outlaw arrived on-scene first. Ptl. V. Brown and I arrived and observed the back passenger’s side window had been shattered. I observed glass fragments in the backseat of the vehicle. I observed the windshield of the vehicle had been damaged. I observed the front passenger tire was flattened and a bullet hole in wheel panel of the passenger’s side front tire. I observed a bullet fragment lodged between the dashboard and front windshield of the vehicle.

I took photographs of the damages and copied them to a CD to be logged into property management. I collected the bullet fragment to be logged into property management. Ptl. Brown responded to the incident location Sylvester Rd/Independence Dr and found a black male with a gunshot wound identified as [VICTIM #2].

I contacted dispatch in reference to having the vehicle towed to the Law Enforcement Center. I transported [VICTIM #1] to the Law Enforcement Center (Investigations) for questioning. A NCIC/GCIC check was conducted on [VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #2] yielding negative results for warrants.

This incident was turned over to the investigations bureau and remains active.
