On Saturday 05/28/2022 at or around 23:15 hours I was patrolling the area of 210 Retreat Village Saint Simons Island, Ga (Ziggy Mahoneys) and observed a male (Later identified as Adam Caamal) being removed from the business by security. Caamal appeared argumentative and was refusing to leave the property even after being told several times by staff.
I approached Caamal and told him to leave the property and he was again argumentative and refused. While speaking with Caamal, I detected a strong odor of consumed alcoholic beverages. I further observed his eyes were red and glassy and Caamal was also slurring his speech while speaking.
I again told Caamal to leave the property or he would be arrested for public intoxication. Caamal was escorted to the parking lot where he began being loud and boisterous and using profane language. I again gave Caamal an opportunity to leave the area and he walked further in to the parking lot and began dancing in the lane of travel.
While I was dealing with another issue, Caamal attempted to re-enter the establishment and was stopped by security. Caamal again got loud and boisterous and began yelling at staff. Caamal again walked in to the parking lot and did not leave the area.
Caamal was advised he was being arrested for Public Drunkenness and was handcuffed behind his back. the handcuffs were checked for correct fit and double locked. Caamal was escorted to my patrol vehicle where he was searched and placed in the rear seat in a seatbelt.
Caamal was transported to Glynn County Detention Center and was booked and released to jail staff. My body cam footage was uploaded to evidence.com along with Ofc. Wilson’s body cam footage of said arrest. Nothing further.
