On October 22nd, 2021 at approximately 2:27 am, I responded to the area of Keith and Jarom Drive in reference to a vehicle that was flipped over in the area. Dispatch advised the complainant drove by the area and saw a Honda CRV in a ditch but didn’t stopped.

Upon my arrival, I rode the area and saw a Silver Honda CRV bearing a Georgia tag of [REDACTED]. The vehicle was laying on its side with no one around it. Myself and other officers walked around the vehicle attempting to see if anyone was in the vehicle.

After a few minutes of trying to get in the vehicle we heard rustling in the vehicle. We then heard a woman’s voice come from inside the vehicle. Officers asked the female was she okay and she stated that she was. The female then started moving around in the vehicle and we advised her to stay still due to the car the unstable. I asked dispatch to notify the fire department to help remove the female. Once fire responded, they were able to get the female out of the truck of the vehicle.

When the female got out of the vehicle she was unstable on her feet. The female had dried blood on her neck and a cut above her lip. Squad asked the female what her name was and she advised Cresta Hurt. While squad was talking to the Cresta she was having a hard time answering their questions and slurring her words. Once squad got the Cresta’s information Sgt. Jones spoke to Cresta. Cresta was unable to to explain how her vehicle ended up flipped over in a ditch. Cresta did explain that she was heading home from her boyfriend’s house.

After Sgt. Jones spoke to Cresta he then preformed a Standard Field Sobriety Test on Cresta. Sgt. Jones was able to determine that Cresta was under the influence. Sgt. Jones explained to Cresta that she was under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol. I placed her in handcuffs which were double locked and Sgt. Jones read her the Georgia Implied Consent from the green card. Sgt. Jones asked Cresta would she consent to a blood test and Cresta refused.

I then placed Cresta in the back of my patrol car and took her to the hospital for jail clearance. After Cresta was cleared I then transported Cresta to Glynn County Detention Center where she was booked for 1 count of Driving Under the Influence Less Safe.
