On Saturday, June 11, 2022 at approximately 7:13 AM I responded to a call for service at [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Brunswick. Upon my arrival I met with Mrs. [VICTIM #1]. She was sitting one her Honda CRV, TAG [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Driver side window down. She told me her boyfriend Demetrice Baldwin was inside of the house.

Myself and Sgt. Jones #149 went inside of the residence with our weapons drawn to make contact with him. As per dispatch Demetrice had a screwdriver on his possession. We found him laying face down on the living room couch. He said was sleeping.

We asked him about the screwdriver. He claimed he knew nothing about it. Kept saying he was sleeping and did not know nothing. Sgt. Jones stayed with him and I went outside to speak with the victim.

[VICTIM #1] was still sitting in the vehicle and asked her to step out and to tell me what happened. She said she was staying over a friends house on Johnson St. the night prior to the incident.

Demetrice went over that house and claimed she had his wallet and he needed to go by the house to get his belongings. She said he was drinking and acting disorderly. At some point he left to the house ([REDACTED BY AGENCY]) and stayed there the rest of night.

[VICTIM #1] said she went back to the house on Altama Ave between 5:30 PM and 6:00 AM Demetrice told her to leave. She was trying to get ready to go to work. She said he was still under the influence of alcohol. She decided to go get a coffee and try again at about an hour later.

She returned at around 7:00 AM tried to go inside and Demetrice wasn’t allowing her entry. But she was able to access the house. While she was in the house noticed a strong smell of urine. She said Demetrice pissed all over her belongings, clothes and possibly the bed.

She got upset at him for doing that and they started arguing. Stuff was thrown around. She said the fight was mainly yelling. But escalated when he grabbed a screwdriver. She decided to leave but he went after her. While leaving the premises due to him being aggressive.

She got into the car and he threw the screwdriver at the windshield glass of her 2020 Black Honda CR-V. Breaking the glass. She said he grabbed the screwdriver, went inside and laid on the couch. Said to pretend being asleep for when the cops arrive. This is when she decided to call the police.

While we were walking through the residence to assess the damages, her room was messy and observed urine on a plastic bin were [VICTIM #1] had her clothes.

I also observed beer bottles all over the kitchen floor. She said he was drinking the entire night. His mood changes when he drinks. We went back outside to see the damages to her vehicle. I observed the broken windshield and part of the front bumper pushed from the driver side pushed in. She said he could have kicked it during the argument.

I did not see any marks, bruising or any other injury on [VICTIM #1].

I provided a case number and Glynn County Police Department Contact information. I also advice [VICTIM #1] to get a new protective order since she allowed Demetrice back into the residence. She had previously obtained one against Demetrice.

I was able to locate the screwdriver in the kitchen. I placed Demetrice under arrest at 8:00 AM for Criminal Trespass Family Violence.

I transported Demetrice to the Glynn County Detention Center (CDC) for precessing.

Warrant for Criminal Trespass FVA will be issue.
