On 11AUG2022 I responded to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in reference to a theft. When I arrived I met with [VICTIM #1] who advised that over the last 3 1/2 months he has had remodel work done at his home by Jason Thomas. He stated that he just recently noticed some property missing from his residence and described the items as followed;

1) 25 5mg [REDACTED BY AGENCY] valued at $100.00
2) 25 7.5mg [REDACTED BY AGENCY] valued at $100.00
3) 1 Gold cocktail ring w/ emeralds and diamonds valued at $4500.00
4) 1 White gold wedding band w/ 3 birth stones valued at $800.00
5) 1 .22ca1 4 shot polished nickel [REDACTED BY AGENCY] valued at $300.00
6) 1 14K gold chain w/ a gold nugget cross pendant valued at $750.00
7) 1 White gold chain w/ a Jesus on the cross pendant valued at $500.00

Mr. [VICTIM #1] advised that he suspected Jason of stealing the items but hasn’t seen him since 30JUL2022 because he was arrested on a probation violation warrant and is currently in Glynn County detention center. However, he has been in contact with a female that he only knows as Michelle, Jason’s girlfriend or wife, via text message on Jason’s phone. He stated that Michelle has been cooperative and apologetic for Jason’s behavior and blames it on his drug addiction.

In one of the messages she tells him that Jason admitted to stealing the items and specifically trading the [REDACTED BY AGENCY] pistol for drugs [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. She also stated that some of the jewelry may have been pawned at local pawn shops in the area. At the end of their text conversations she told Mr. [VICTIM #1] that Jason wanted to call him and admit to everything he stole and where the items ended up.

I advised Mr. [VICTIM #1] that if Jason was to call him he should video record the phone conversation on speaker phone and call us back with whatever further information he receives. I also showed Mr. [VICTIM #1] how to take screenshots of the text conversations and sent him a text message link to evidence.com to submit the photos under this case number. I provided Mr. [VICTIM #1] with a Glynn County victim’s bill of rights and explained the resources available to the victims of crimes in this county.
