On, Thursday, May 26, 2022, at approximatley 0030 hours, I, Cpl. S. Spaulding, responded to the area of [800 BLOCK] N St, where dispatch advised a male had been hiding in a closet waiting for his girlfiend. Prior to my arrival, dispatch adivsed the male had come out of the residenc and tried to get into a car where his girlfriend was, and also damaged the vehicle. Dispatch then adivsed the male had walked down the streen towards the church located at N St and Norwich St.

Officer M. Herrera, and I arrived to the area at approximately the same time. Officer Herrera was able to see the male go towards Norwich St Lane at N St. Officer Herrera and I got out with him. The male, was grabbing several bags off the ground and putting them on the front and back of him. Officer Herrera asked what was going on, and the male responded that he was a minor and that officers could not question him without his parents. The male continued to grab his bags and other items, then attempted to walk away. With the information I received from dispatch I advised the male that he was 17, and advised him to stop. I grabbed the males arm to keep him from reaching into any of this bags.

At that time the male was uncooperative, and I advised Officer Herrera to assist me in placing him in investigative detention so we could make contact with the complaintant. The male was placed in handcuffs. I asked the male what needed to come with him at this time, and he did not answer. I grabbed the males phone, Officer Herrera searched him, and placed him in the back of his patrol vehicle.

I responded to [800 BLOCK] N St, and Officer Herrera did as well, with the male. I, first spoke with Ms. [WITNESS #1]. Ms. [WITNESS #1] advised she is 19 years of age, and is the primary care taker of her sister, Ms. [VICTIM #1]. Ms. [WITNESS #1] stated she had allowed her sisters boyfriend Mr. Tae’Vion Johnson, to stay at this address for approximatley one month.

On this date, Mr. Johnson and Ms. [VICTIM #1], got into a heated argument, which Ms. [WITNESS #1] found out about over a text message. Ms. [WITNESS #1] advised Ms. [VICTIM #1] went out to her vehicle, a 2011 Buick Regal. Ms. [WITNESS #1] advised she thought Mr. Johnson had left the residence, and she began gathering his items to put them outside. While gathering his items, Ms. [WITNESS #1] found a kitchen knife in the closet. Ms. [WITNESS #1] stated moments later, she heard the door slam.

Ms. [WITNESS #1] went outside where she observed Mr. Johnson attempting to get into the Buick Regal by throwing rocks, pulling on door handels and kicking the passenger side door. I observed two large dents with what appeared to be foot prints on the front and rear door of the passenger side of the vehicle. The damage to the doors area approximated to be $300.00 to have them reparied.

I, then, spoke with Ms. [VICTIM #1], who advised she and Mr. Johnson had began arguing. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated she said something about Mr. Johnsons mother. Mr. Johnson advised Ms. [VICTIM #1] she was going to have someone come beat her up. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated she came out to the vehicle, and she got a text message asking “what did you say about my auntie?” She then got into an argument with someone over text, who she thought was Mr. Johnsons cousin. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated she spoke with Mr. Johnson and he advised he was about to kill himself.

Mr. Johnson then stated it was him that was him texting her as his cousin. Ms. [VICTIM #1] then advised Mr. Johnson she was going to the car. Ms. [VICTIM #1] then, advised just before she had gone to sit in the car, Mr. Johnson had the knife, and during the argument, he had pulled her into the closet and advised her “I should kill you.” She then left the room, and went out to the car.

In the car, Mr. Johnson came out stating for Ms. [VICTIM #1] to get out the car, and that they were about to fight. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated she knew if she got out the car and he would hit her. Mr. Johnson continued to attempt to get into the vehicle, by throwing things at the car and pulling the door handels. Mr. Johnson then began kicking the doors, and Ms. [VICTIM #1] advised her other sister drove off to avoid him being able to get to Ms. [VICTIM #1].

I, then, walked over to Officer Herreras patrol vehicle. I read Mr. Johnson his Miranda Rights, and asked if he understood them. Mr. Johnson advised he did. Mr. Johnson, then, advised he would speak with me. Mr. Johnson stated he and Ms. [VICTIM #1] and he had been in an argument. Mr. Johnson stated he was angry due to her saying things about his mother. Mr. Johnson stated Ms. [VICTIM #1] went to the car, and he had taken a kitchen knife to the closet, and attempted to cut himself.

I did observe vertical marks on his arms, which were scratched. Mr. Johnson stated he throught of stabbing himself, but did not. Mr. Johnson stated someone put his items outside, and when he realized it he walked outside stating they could have just told him to leave. Mr. Johnson stated he came outside and saw Ms. [VICTIM #1] in the vehicle, and he did kick the vehicle on the passenger side.

Mr. Johnson was asked what he wanted to do with his personal items. He asked that I take them to his mother, which I did. I provided Ms. [WITNESS #1] and Ms. [VICTIM #1] with case number and advised them on how to get a copy of this report. Mr. Johnson was transported to the ER where he got jail clearance and then, transported to CDC for Criminal trespass FVA and Simple Assault FVA. Nothing follows.
