On 01302023 at 0326 hours, I, Ofc. Lee, responded to C&G Automotive at 1313 Watson Blvd. in reference to subjects attempting to steal catalytic converters.
Once on scene, I observed a subject underneath a Dodge Ram 3500, Georgia tag#[REDACTED]. As I approached the vehicle, the subject rolled from underneath the vehicle and fled the scene with another subject. They both appeared to be male subjects and were wearing all black clothing. They were last seen heading north into the McArthur Blvd. area. While searching the area, Ofc. E. Smith and Ofc. J. Lamberth were able to locate one suspect, Raven Manns, hiding under a vehicle at [800 BLOCK] McArthur Blvd. We were unable to locate the second suspect at this time.
During the investigation, I discovered a vehicle jack was used under the driver side, front wheel. I also observed the catalytic converter had been cut on the front side of the pipe. I was unable to locate any cutting tools at this time. I took photographs of the vehicle along with the damage and the photos were attached to this report. I was unable to establish contact with the owner of the vehicle, S&W Sales and Service, or the owner of this property. A case card was left on the front door of the business. The vehicle jack was collected and logged into evidence at police headquarters.
Raven Manns was transported to police headquarters for processing. He was charged with Criminal Attempt – Theft By Taking, Criminal Trespass – Entry Upon Land, along with Obstruction of an Officer. I will secure warrants on Raven at the next available date. I was unable to identify the second suspect involved in this incident.
