On 04-21-2022, I, Ofc. Greene, was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Galan Way, in reference to an unknown problem.

On scene, I could yelling coming from inside the residence. I knocked on the door, and it was opened by the victim, Ms. [VICTIM #1]. Ms. [VICTIM #1] had blood on her shirt and was holding her head, above her left eye. I inquired as to what took place. Ms. [VICTIM #1] removed her hand from her head and I immediately observed a deep 1 to 1.5 inch laceration above her left eye.

Ofc. Strom, who arrived on scene with me, radioed Central and requested Fire and EMS to be in route to our location. Ms. [VICTIM #1] identified Tonja Lawson, as the offender, and stated that Ms. Lawson struck her in the head with a liquor bottle.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] advised that they got into an argument over a cigarette and Ms. Lawson grabbed the liquor bottle and hit her in the head. While Ofc. Strom and Fire tended to Ms. [VICTIM #1], I made contact with Ms. Lawson.

Ms. Lawson stated the Ms. [VICTIM #1] and her had been feuding back and forth over a man. Ms. Lawson advised that there was a lit cigarette in the ash tray that she believed belonged to her, so she picked it up and started smoking it. Ms. [VICTIM #1] snapped at her and told her that was her cigarette and got in Ms. Lawson’s face.

Ms. Lawson stated that was when she acquired the clear glass bottle of Smirnoff Vodka and struck Ms. [VICTIM #1] in the head with the bottle, thus causing the laceration to Mr. [VICTIM #1]’s head above her left eye

I placed Ms. Lawson in cuffs and advised her that she was under arrest for Battery. I escorted her to my patrol vehicle, searched her person for weapons, and secured her in the rear seat of my patrol vehicle.

The laceration on Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s head will obviously need a few stitches. All parties involved appeared to be under the influence.

I transported Ms. Lawson to headquarters, where I turned her over to Booking for processing. I will be completing and signing a warrant on Ms. Lawson for Battery at the earliest convenience.

Nothing further to report.
