On 9/2/2022, at 1157 hrs, I conducted a tag inquiry on a black Volkswagen Jetta (Ga tag [REDACTED]) using my mobile data terminal (MDT). The vehicle displayed a 2021 validation decal on its Georgia tag. The vehicle returned with no active insurance and the registered owner’s, Alliyah Ingram, license as “suspended all” (suspension date 6/21/2021) for serious violations under 21.
I activated my emergency equipment, lights/siren, and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. My final stop location was on Garden Cir. I approached the driver (Ms Ingram) and explained the reason for the stop.
I asked Ms Ingram to exit her vehicle. I then placed Ms Ingram under arrest for driving while suspended. She was issued citations for driving while suspended O.C.G.A. 40-5-121, No insurance O.C.G.A. 40-6-10, and revalidation decal not applied O.C.G.A. 40-2-8.1. Ms Ingram was given a mandatory court date of 10/5/2022.
The arrest and transport of the suspect followed department protocol consisting of the suspect being searched, handcuffs being applied, checked for proper fit and double locked. The suspect was placed in the backseat of my patrol vehicle and was seat belted in for transport. The vehicle was searched prior to and after transport with no contraband found.
The suspect was released to the custody of the Liberty County detention staff without incident.
