Motorcycle crashes after wild chase, man faces several felonies

DALTON – Georgia State Police were involved in a high speed chase on Monday, which took troopers and Sheriff’s deputies on a wild ride through Whitfield County, reaching speeds of over 100mph.

The chase ended when the motorcycle, being operated by Luis Sanchez, crashed near the intersection of Cleveland Highway and GA-2 in Cohutta, witnesses say. No injuries have been reported.

Sanchez was booked into the Whitfield County Jail on the following charges:

  2. Possess To Distribute, Cocaine
  3. Trafficking In Cocaine, Sales Of
  4. Possess A Schedule 1, Hallucinogen
  5. Possession And Use Of Drug Related Objects
  6. Dui- Driving Under Influence Of Alcohol
  7. Motorcycle Must Have Eye Protection
  8. Fleeing/ Attempting To Elude Police Officer (Felony)
  9. Maximum Limits
  10. Failure To Obey Traffic Control Devices; Running Red Light
  11. Failure To Maintain Lane
  12. Reckless Driving
  13. Failure To Stop At Stop Sign
  14. Failure To Maintain Lane, Wrong Side Of Road
