On May 28th, 2022 at approximately 0210, Deputy Caraway was observing traffic at 324 I75 Northbound.

Deputy Caraway observed a passenger vehicle in the left hand lane exceeding the 70 miles per hour speed limit. Deputy Caraway had a visual estimate of the vehicle going over 100 miles per hour. Deputy Caraway used pro laser #LF03507 and checked the speed at 106 miles per hour.

Deputy Caraway then conducted a traffic stop and approached the driver. The driver was identified as Alexis Keyeara Polk. Deputy Caraway ran her driver’s license through NCIC to find that her license were suspended for an infraction.

Deputy Caraway then approached the vehicle again and placed Ms. Polk under arrest, handcuffs were put on and checked for fit, and Ms. Polk was placed in the backseat of the patrol vehicle.

Deputy Caraway asked Ms. Polk if there was anything that she needed from the car or that needed to be listed in his report. Ms. Polk requested only her phone, wallet, and a jacket from her trunk. The items were retrieved from Ms. Polk’s car and placed in the trunk of the patrol vehicle while Ms. Polk was given her jacket.

After Frank’s Wrecker Service had secured Ms. Polk’s vehicle, Deputy Caraway escorted her to Whitfield County Jail. Upon arrival at the jail, Ms. Polk was turned over to jail staff and issued citation #303956 O.C.G.A. 40-6-181 Speeding and citation #303957 O.C.G.A. 40-6-121 Driving While License is Suspended.
