On May 18, 2022 at approximately 2132 hours Deputy Hall and Deputy Findley were dispatched to 490 Carbondale Rd in reference to a check welfare. After arriving on scene Deputy Hall made contact with a [WITNESS #1].

Ms. [WITNESS #1] advised Deputy Hall that she drove by Cove Baptist Church and spotted a vehicle with an open door that to her looked out of the ordinary. Ms. [WITNESS #1] then turned around and made contact with a Felicia Adams who stated she had too much to drink. Ms. [WITNESS #1] then obtained the keys from Ms. Adams so that she couldn’t drive off.

Deputy Hall then made contact with Felicia Adams. Ms. Adams advised that she had been drinking 99 proof vodka shots and driving back home from the liquor store. Ms. Adams stated that she stopped at Cove Baptist Church to catch her breath and have some more to drink.

Deputy Hall then asked for Ms. Adams to exit the vehicle. Upon standing Ms. Adams collapsed and fell into Deputy Hall’s arms. Deputy Hall smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Ms. Adams’ breath.

Ms. Adams also had empty vodka shot bottles in the floorboard on the driver side as well as the backseat. Due to Ms. Adams being extremely intoxicated and unbalanced Deputy Findley decided not to do Standardized Field Sobriety.

Deputy Hall ran Ms. Adams through NCIC by name and date of birth and discovered that she was also unlicensed. Deputy Hall then placed Ms. Adams under arrest for Driving under the Influence. [REDACTED], the husband of Ms. Adams, responded to the scene and took possession of the vehicle.

Deputy Findley then read Ms. Adams the Implied Consent Notice for suspects age 21 or over and she answered “Yes”. Ms. Adams was then transported to Whitfield County Jail where Officer Hernandez conducted the state administered breath test on her using Intoxilyzer 9000 Serial #(90-000763). The lower of the two breath alcohol content samples was .284.

Deputy Hall charged Ms. Adams with Driving Under the Influence on citation 304277, Open Container on citation 304279, and Driving without a Valid License on Citation 304278.
