On November 11, 2025, at approximately 1041 hours, I, Deputy Wood, was dispatched to [300 BLOCK] Meadow Road in reference to a report of a person remaining on the premises uninvited.

Upon my arrival, I made contact with Deidra Smith, who stated she just wanted to retrieve her belongings from the residence. While speaking with Smith, I observed that she appeared to be out of breath and breathing rapidly. I asked Smith if she currently lived at the residence. She stated that she had lived there during the summer of 2025, but not at the present time. I then asked Smith what had occurred between her and the complainant, Debra Kinney.

Smith stated she came to Kinney’s residence to retrieve the remainder of her belongings, but Kinney would not allow her to enter. Smith advised that Kinney went outside and began deflating, or attempting to deflate, one of her vehicle’s tires. Smith stated she ran over and pushed Kinney away from the tire, causing both of them to fall to the ground. Smith stated that she and Kinney then “duked it out,” referring to a physical fight. I observed Smith for any visible injuries, but did not observe any new marks or signs of injury. Smith also stated she did not sustain any injuries from the altercation.

I then made contact with Debra Kinney, who stated that Smith came to her residence banging on the door and demanding to retrieve her belongings. Kinney stated that when she made contact with Smith at the front door, Smith asked if she could use a phone charger. Kinney reported that she told Smith multiple times to leave, but Smith refused. Kinney stated that she then went to Smith’s vehicle and pressed the valve stem on one of the tires, causing a small amount of air to escape. Kinney stated that Smith ran over and pushed her away from the tire, causing both of them to end up on the ground.

I observed red, bloodshot scratch marks on Kinney’s left arm and freshly dried blood on her left hand, consistent with a recent scratch-type injury. Based on statements from both parties and the physical evidence observed, I determined that both individuals had engaged in a physical altercation. At that time, I placed both Kinney and Smith under arrest and in handcuffs.

Debra Kinney – Disorderly Conduct
Deidra Smith – Simple Battery

Both Kinney and Smith were transported to the Bacon County Jail, where they were placed on 48-hour detainers. Warrants will be applied for on both subjects.

Photographs of Kinney’s injuries were taken and uploaded to this report.
