On 03/08/2023 at approximately 1852 hours, I made contact with [WITNESS #1], [2400 BLOCK] Grandview Drive Unit [REDACTED], in reference to a domestic issue.

[WITNESS #1] stated she was calling on behalf of her grandson, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (DOB: [REDACTED BY AGENCY] 2009). [WITNESS #1] stated [VICTIM #1] was at her residence doing his homework when he fell asleep on the couch. [WITNESS #1] stated she did not think anything of the issue and allowed him to sleep. [WITNESS #1] stated she was contacted by Brian Howard, [VICTIM #1]’s father, who was angry his son was not home and demanded his location. [VICTIM #1] left the residence and returned home to [2400 BLOCK] Grandview Court Unit [REDACTED]. [WITNESS #1] stated approximately 15-20 minutes later, [VICTIM #1] returned to her residence bleeding from his swollen shut eye.

[VICTIM #1] stated after he returned home, he sat on the floor and continued to work on his homework. [VICTIM #1] stated B. Howard approached him and began to shout at him for being on the floor. [VICTIM #1] stated a verbal altercation took place between the two before B. Howard shoved him, punched him in his chest, and punched him in the eye. [VICTIM #1] returned to his grandmother’s house. [WITNESS #1] transported [VICTIM #1] to the hospital for medical evaluation

The Department of Family and Childs Services were notified of the incident. Photographs were taken of [VICTIM #1]’s injuries.

At the time of this report, [VICTIM #1] was diagnosed with an orbital fracture of the left eye socket and will require further medical treatment.

Contact was attempted to with B. Howard at his residence with negative results. [WITNESS #1] advised since she brought [VICTIM #1] to the hospital, B. Howard had instructed one of his other sons to retrieve [VICTIM #1]’s property from the residence and drop them off outside [WITNESS #1]’ residence. Warrants will be secured for Aggravated Battery and Cruelty to Children for B. Howard.
