On 2-12-23, I responded to [100 BLOCK] Moore Street in reference to a verbal domestic.

Upon my arrival, I checked the residence that appeared to be unoccupied. I walked around to the trailer on the back side of [100 BLOCK] and heard yelling in the distance. I made my way back to my patrol vehicle and drove down the road to [100 BLOCK] Moore Street. While exiting my patrol vehicle I witnessed a male subject holding an infant go inside the residence.

I made contact with a female subject, identified as [REDACTED] at the front door. She advised everything was fine and she did not need us and she should not have called. I asked Ms. [REDACTED] what was going on and she stated that they were just arguing about the baby. She advised the baby is the male’s child and she did not know the mother. Deputy Clements arrived on scene to assist.

The male subject that I saw enter the residence was yelling through a back room saying “I’m not talking to no police”. I asked Ms. [REDACTED] what the male’s name was and she advised me that I did not need to know who he was and she knows him by “Duck”. Deputy Clements asked the male subject for his name and date of birth. The male came out from the side room and stated his name was Kentavious Thomas, and his date of birth was [REDACTED BY AGENCY]95. Deputy Clements repeated this information back to the male subject and he changed the date of birth to [REDACTED BY AGENCY]96. We provided Baldwin dispatch with this information. Deputy Clements went to his patrol vehicle to run this same information due to the change in information.

I told the male subject I would give him a ride to his mother’s house with his child due to the nature of the call. The male subject grabbed the diaper bag and exited the residence as he began walking up the road. He said his aunt lived up the hill and he could walk. I walked to Deputy Clements patrol vehicle and he stated that the name and date of birth provided were not the correct information for the male. I gave verbal instructions for the male to stop and to come back. He began walking back towards me and Deputy Clements. I asked him once again for his name and date of birth. He gave a different date of birth, and advised he did not have a middle name. He then walked back down to the residence yelling, “babe, tell them my name is Kentavious Thomas”, while holding his child.

I attempted to catch up to the male subject due to his suspicious actions. Once he made it into the residence with me right behind him, Ms. [REDACTED] tried to stop me from coming into her home after the male subject passed her. I moved her out of my way, to question the male subject. The male then entered the side bedroom with his child. I witnessed him drop his child before exiting through the side door, and he fled on foot. I instructed the male to stop while grabbing my taser.

The male jumped off of the back porch and ran into the trailer park located behind the residence. I attempted to locate the male subject. The Milledgeville Police Department and Sgt. Condon arrived to assist in checking the area. No contact with the male was made. Deputy Clements advised Baldwin dispatch to contact DFACS. Deputy Clements and Sgt. Condon stood by at the residence and continued to gather information.

I went back to the residence after Sgt. Condon advised me that the Grandmother of the child, identified as [REDACTED], arrived and confirmed that the identity of the male subject as her son, Dreshawn Anderson, date of birth [REDACTED BY AGENCY]98. It was determined that he has an outstanding bench warrant. The grandmother was advised that DFACS was called and she would need to stay until then to discuss the situation with the case worker.

DFACS case worker [REDACTED] arrived on scene. She spoke to the grandmother and gathered information. The child was turned over to Ms. [REDACTED] per Ms. [REDACTED].

Three state warrants were issued for Mr. Anderson. one Cruelty to Children in the 2nd Degree one Obstruction of an Officer, and one Giving false name and date of birth.
