[NARRATIVE #1 on February 10, 2023]
On February 10, 2023 at approximately 1437, Eatonton Police Department notified Baldwin Dispatch of a shoplifting which occurred at the Ingles in Eatonton, GA.
Eatonton PD advised the offender left in a gray Toyota Camry, bearing GA tag [REDACTED], heading toward Baldwin County. At the time, Eatonton PD believed the registered owner, [REDACTED], was the suspected offender and requested units to attempt to locate the vehicle at his residence. The vehicle was not located at [REDACTED]’s residence. However, the vehicle information was quickly entered into the Flock camera system which resulted in an almost immediate “hit” notification.
Deputy Butts was near the “hit” location and obtained a visual on the Camry in the area of N Jefferson Street and E Montgomery Street. Deputy Butts initiated a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled and a pursuit began (See case # 202311689.) The chase was discontinued for safety reasons at approximately 1509.
At approximately 1514, I received a Flock Safety alert notification that the Camry passed the area near SW Gordon Highway at SW Jackson Drive southbound. I quickly responded to the area and canvassed for the vehicle. I passed [100 BLOCK] SW Mount Pleasant Church Road and noticed a Toyota Camry matching the suspect’s vehicle description with two black males standing in front of it.
I turned around and went back to the driveway to get the tag number. While doing so, the two males saw me and began walking toward the back side of the house. As soon as I stopped in the roadway, confirmed the vehicle tag as [REDACTED], and activated my emergency blue lights on my marked patrol unit, the two male subjects rapidly ran away from me.
I notified Baldwin Dispatch and began a foot pursuit of the subjects while giving loud verbal commands to “Stop.” Both subjects appeared to be trying to stay close together and both failed to obey my commands. My pursuit continued into the wooded and swampy area behind [100 BLOCK] & [100 BLOCK] Cobb Road. The two subjects separated. I was able to take one male into custody who I did not recognize as Henry Canty.
The subject identified himself as Miles Carter and would not provide his date of birth. While walking “Miles” out of the woods, I reacquired a visual on the second subject who crossed my path and ran through the woods toward [100 BLOCK] Cobb Road. Other responding units were later able to capture the second subject.
Once back at my unit, I placed “Miles” in the back of my patrol car to further try to identify him. The subject continued to refuse to provide his actual name. The subject began to complain of being dehydrated and appeared to begin to lose consciousness. I requested EMS who responded and tried to evaluate “Miles” who refused. Grady EMS advised that “Miles” appeared to be fine.
An ID card was recovered inside the Camry belonging to Tymel Ware, who I later discovered was the second suspect who fled from me and was apprehended by other units. Also within the back seat of the Camry, in plain sight, were twelve (12) cases of beer which had been stolen from Ingles in Eatonton.
The cases of beer were recovered and turned over to Eatonton PD. The Camry was left in the driveway of [100 BLOCK] SW Mount Pleasant Church Road where it was parked at the allowance of the property owner. “Miles” asked if I could get his white jacket out of the Camry and stated that it was in the trunk.
As it appeared that he had control and knowledge of the vehicle, I met his request and opened the trunk to find his white jacket just as he had described. I transported “Miles” to the Baldwin County Jail, where he finally stated that his name was actually Dwayne Anderson. A GCIC query of Anderson resulted in a hit on a Wanted Person file for Probation Violation through Jones County.
I turned Anderson over to Jail staff with a completed Arrest/Booking Sheet. I secured warrants on Dwayne Anderson for Obstruction of an Officer, Giving False Name to Law Enforcement, and Theft by Receiving Stolen Property.

[NARRATIVE #2 on February 10, 2023]
On February 10, 2023 I responded to [100 BLOCK] Mount Pleasant Church Road to assist in a foot pursuit in reference to previous case (2023111689). Upon my arrival I observed Deputy Spires pursuing an unknown male in the area of Cobb Road South West.
I notified Dispatch I was located at [100 BLOCK] Cobb Road, exited my patrol vehicle, and assisted in the foot pursuit. As I approached the unknown male, I drew my taser, and gave him verbal commands to stop fleeing and kneel on the ground.
I placed the unknown male under arrest. The unknown male appeared to have trouble breathing while being dehydrated. I offered the male Emergency Medical Service, approximately three times, but the male declined. When questioned about his identity the male provided me a nickname of “[REDACTED]”. I placed the male in the back of my patrol car and moved to the address from which the chase initiated. Upon arrival a driver’s license was discovered in the vehicle.
I was able to identify the unknown male as Tymel Ware from his license whom he provided. I began transporting the male to the Baldwin County Jail. Upon arrival at the jail, Ware stated he had a leg injury, Baldwin Dispatch notified EMS. EMS arrived at the jail and cleared Ware. Ware was turned over to jail staff.
Warrants were secured on Ware as follows: (1) Count Giving False Name to Law Enforcement, (1) Count Theft By receiving Stolen Property, (1) Count Obstruction of an Officer.
