I was dispatched to 2920 North Columbia Street (Raceway) in reference to a report of a hit and run.

I arrived on scene and made contact with [VICTIM #1] who stated she went to the Raceway to get a drink. She stated as she was leaving the property, she attempted to exit the parking lot and turn left onto North Columbia Street. [VICTIM #1] stated her ex-boyfriend, Howard Kitchens, intentionally used his Ford Five Hundred (tag number [REDACTED]) to strike the driver side front door of her white in color Buick Lesabre (tag number [REDACTED]), before fleeing the scene.

[VICTIM #1] stated she then returned to the parking lot and called 911 to report the matter and have EMS come evaluate her. I then examined her vehicle and noticed the driver’s side front door to be severely damaged and would not open. Due to a previous call at 0010 hours at [200 BLOCK] Sinclair Marina Road involving both parties, Baldwin County Dispatch was able to retrieve Kitchens’ tag number and check FLOCK. Baldwin County Dispatch was able to locate the vehicle on Meriwether Road at Stewart Avenue at 0202 hours. The vehicle then passed the camera at SR 22 West going into Jones County.

Jones County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the incident and provided with the vehicle information and tag number. Jones County Sheriff’s Office was able to locate the vehicle on SR 18 at Sr 49 and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. They then advised Dispatch of the traffic stop and Deputy Coley was able to go to the scene and transport Kitchens to the Baldwin County Jail. I met Deputy Coley at the jail and completed an arrest booking sheet as well as a warrantless arrest sheet. Kitchens was issued a citation for Hit and Run and a warrant was secured for Aggravated Assault (FVA).
