On 04/27/2026, I responded to a suspicious vehicle call at [100 BLOCK] Shady Rest Court.
Upon my arrival, I made contact with the driver of a red Chevrolet Silverado (Tag-[REDACTED]), Jaandra Harris. Harris stated she was at this address to meet a friend and get her belongings back. While speaking with Harris, her speech was slurred and I could smell the odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage coming from her person. I asked Harris if she drove to this location, to which she replied she drove from her house in Atlanta. I asked Harris if she had anything to drink tonight, to which she replied yes but it was before she left her residence and traveled to Shady Rest Court. I asked Harris if she would consent to Standardized Field Sobriety Test, and she agreed to. Harris stated she does wear glasses but was not wearing them at this time.
Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus Test (2/6 Clues Observed)
I observed equal tracking in both eyes and verified my observation.
I observed lack of smooth pursuit in both eyes and verified my observation.
I did not observe distinct and sustained nystagmus at maximum deviation in either eye and verified my observation.
I did not observe onset of nystagmus prior to 45 degrees in either eye and verified my observation.
Walk and Turn (4/8 Clues Observed)
The next test conducted was the Walk and Turn Test. Harris was instructed to put her left foot on an imagined straight line and her right foot in front of it, with her right heel touching the toe of her left foot. She was instructed to stand in this manner with her hands at her side until the test instructions were completed and the test had been demonstrated. She was instructed not to begin the test until told to start. She was instructed to take nine steps along the line in a heel-to-toe manner. After the ninth step, she was to stop with her lead foot planted and turn around by taking several small steps with the other foot to turn around. After turning around, she was to take nine steps in a heel-to-toe manner back along the same imagined straight line, in the direction she had come from. She was further instructed to watch her feet at all times while walking, keep her arms down at her side, and to count her steps out loud.
After the test was demonstrated, she stated she understood the instructions and was told to begin the test.
Harris missed heel to toe, stepped off the line, took the wrong amount of steps, and completed an improper turn.
One Leg Stand (2/4 Clues Observed)
The next test I conducted was the One Leg Stand Test. Harris was instructed to stand with her feet together and arms at her side during the test. She was asked not to begin the test until instructed. She was told to raise the leg of her choice approximately six inches off the ground and keeping her foot parallel to the ground. While holding that position, she was to keep her leg straight and count out loud starting at “one thousand one, one thousand two, one thousand three,” and so forth, until instructed to stop (after 30 seconds). The test was demonstrated to Harris.
Harris swayed while balancing and put her foot down.
I placed Harris under arrest for DUI and placed her in the rear of my patrol car.
I read Harris Georgia Implied Consent Notice for suspects over age 21 from my green card. Harris consented to the State administered test of her breath.
Intoxilyzer 9000
I transported Harris to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, where I could run the state administered test on the intoxilyzer 9000. The test indicated a breath alcohol content of .058 with no errors indicated.
Harris was turned over to jail staff with a completed booking sheet.
While waiting for Gotcha Towing to come get the vehicle, Harris stated she wanted to bring her purse and phone to the jail with her. I retrieved the items from the truck and brought them back to my patrol car. While doing a search of the purse, I located a yellow vape and a clear vape cartridge both containing suspected THC oil. Both items were secured in my patrol vehicle and then placed into the evidence locker with a completed evidence sheet.
I issued citation a for DUI and I will secure a warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
