On 10/11/2025, at approximately 0011 hours, Officers were dispatched to [400 BLOCK] Earnest Byner Street in reference to an active fight.
Upon arrival, multiple individuals were observed standing in the yard of [400 BLOCK] Earnest Byner Street. I approached the group and asked what had occurred. One unidentified female stated she was “the problem.” I asked who the problem was, and a female later identified as [VICTIM #1] stated, “Are you gonna tell him, or should I?” A second female, identified as Kenya Milner, then said, “Please say something.”
I asked [VICTIM #1] what had occurred; however, she continued searching for her keys while Milner began cursing at her. Milner became increasingly agitated and stepped toward [VICTIM #1] in an aggressive manner. I instructed both [VICTIM #1] and Milner to back up, but Milner continued to confront [VICTIM #1]. I approached Milner to create separation between the two.
At that time, Milner’s small son began pushing her to make her stop. Milner then pushed her son out of the way. Moments later, Milner grabbed [VICTIM #1] by the throat and began choking her.
I immediately grabbed Milner’s left arm and attempted to place her in handcuffs. Milner actively resisted arrest by pulling away and tensing her arms. After a brief struggle, I was able to secure both of her wrists in handcuffs.
Milner continued to resist by refusing to walk as instructed. I advised her that if she did not comply, she would be carried to the patrol car. Milner then complied and was escorted to the rear of Lt. Thomason’s patrol vehicle upon his arrival.
As a result of the assault, [VICTIM #1] sustained a swollen eye, a busted lip, multiple bite marks, and scratches to various parts of her body. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were called to the scene to evaluate [VICTIM #1] for her injuries. EMS personnel advised that the swelling to [VICTIM #1]’s eye appeared severe and may require medical drainage. [VICTIM #1] declined medical transport and refused further medical treatment despite EMS recommendations.
A Use of Force Report was completed due to the physical resistance encountered during the arrest.
Charges of Aggravated Assault and Aggravated Battery were submitted.
[End of Narrative]
