On 01/17/2026 at 6:00pm officers were dispatched to [1200 BLOCK] West Charlton Court in reference to harassment.

On scene officers spoke to the complainant, [VICTIM #1], who stated he was home when a person he had known most of his life, Lewis Yarber, was on foot in front of his house. [VICTIM #1] said he and Yarber were speaking about something briefly when [VICTIM #1] got inside of his vehicle, a blue 1984 Chevrolet Caprice. [VICTIM #1] said Yarber then hit his front driver door window with a bottle. [VICTIM #1] said Yarber then opened the car door, struck [VICTIM #1] in the face with the vodka bottle, and left on foot.

[VICTIM #1] stated he wasn’t sure if he had any injuries to his face due to nerve damage from a previous incident where he was shot in the face. [VICTIM #1] described the bottle Yarber used to hit him as a cheap glass bottle of Smirnoff vodka that Yarber had in his backpack. [VICTIM #1] also stated that Yarber was wearing all black with an orange shirt.

I observed a minor injury to the outer upper left lip of [VICTIM #1] and an injury to the inner upper left lip of [VICTIM #1]. Photographs of [VICTIM #1]’s injuries were taken and uploaded to the report. I did not observe any visible damage to the window, but [VICTIM #1] did show me that the front driver window to his vehicle was off track and did not function properly. Officer Gay #17 spoke to a male nearby in a truck who stated he did not want to get into other peoples’ business, but that he did see Yarber and [VICTIM #1] fussing with each other.

Officers then went to [100 BLOCK] Lake Drive, Apt [REDACTED], in attempt to locate Yarber. After not being able to locate Yarber, officers left the residence and were driving north on Lake Drive to look for Yarber in Wray Homes. While driving north on Lake Drive, I observed a male in all black with an orange top that I identified as Yarber walking south on Lake Drive.

I stopped and made contact with Yarber and upon approaching Yarber, I immediately smelled an odor of an alcohol beverage emitting from Yarber. Yarber stated that nothing happened, and he was going to have my job. Yarber attempted to leave but was stopped. I placed Yarber under arrest for Aggravated Assault. A search incident to arrest yielded a glass Smirnoff bottle in his backpack. I placed Yarber’s backpack and the contents of his backpack on the side porch of [100 BLOCK] Lake Drive, Apt [REDACTED], and followed Officer Gay to the jail to assist with booking.

A warrant was sworn and signed against Yarber for Aggravated Assault.
