[NARRATIVE #1 on October 17, 2023]

On October 17th, 2023, at approximately 2354 hours, I was dispatched to College Station Apartments, [500 BLOCK] North Wilkinson Street, apartment #[REDACTED] in reference to a domestic problem.

Upon my arrival, I contacted [VICTIM #1] who stated the incident originally started at her place of employment, Velvet Elvis, 113 West Hancock Street. [VICTIM #1] stated her boyfriend, later identified as Nicholas Richardson came into Velvet Elvis highly intoxicated and aggressive. [VICTIM #1] stated she wanted to leave the bar with Richardson, but he refused to leave. [VICTIM #1] stated once they were finally able to leave, she drove them back to his apartment (the incident location). [VICTIM #1] stated once they got to his apartment, Richardson started choking and banging her head against the floor. When asked, [VICTIM #1] stated Richardson pinned her against the counter in which she got away from him.

[VICTIM #1] stated as she’s trying to leave, while on the phone with her mother, Richardson pinned her against the refrigerator by the front door and started choking her. [VICTIM #1] stated she then goes to the couch where Richardson grabs her by her feet, where she fell to the floor. [VICTIM #1] stated Richardson then started banging her against the floor continuously. [VICTIM #1] also mentioned Richardson grabbed a shotgun because she called her friend, [WITNESS #1] to help her. [VICTIM #1] stated [WITNESS #1] and [REDACTED] came to the apartment to assist her and grabbed the gun.

A witness statement was obtained from [WITNESS #2], who stated he heard commotion through walls at apartment #[REDACTED]. [WITNESS #2] stated he heard “Is it fu*king loaded?” several times. [WITNESS #2] stated he also heard banging and a female crying. [WITNESS #2] stated he and his roommate, [WITNESS #3], went outside and they saw a female ([VICTIM #1]) bleeding. The female ([VICTIM #1]) then told them to call law enforcement.

I then obtained a statement from “[WITNESS #3]”, who stated he heard screaming and a loud crash for approximately 20 minutes coming from the apartment next door. [WITNESS #3] stated he walked outside to see what was going on. [WITNESS #3] stated [VICTIM #1] then walked outside shortly afterwards and a male subject was actively hitting her. [WITNESS #3] stated [VICTIM #1] had obvious signs of abuse on her face.

[VICTIM #1] declined any medical attention. Richardson was later placed under arrest and transported to the Baldwin County LEC. Warrants will be secured for aggravated assault and battery. Photos were taken. All statements were collected and turned in.

[NARRATIVE #2 on October 17, 2023]

On 10/17/2023 at approximately 2355 hours, I was dispatched to College Station Apartments, [500 BLOCK] North Wilkinson Street Apartment [REDACTED], in reference to a domestic problem.

As I was searching for the apartment I was approached by a male, [WITNESS #1], who was friends with the victim, [VICTIM #1]. [WITNESS #1] stated he received a phone call from [VICTIM #1] stating her boyfriend, Nicholas Richardson was acting crazy. [WITNESS #1] stated he got to the apartment and [VICTIM #1] had a cut across her nose and [VICTIM #1] stated she had a bruised eye. [WITNESS #1] stated he went inside the residence and tried speaking to the offender, Nicholas Richardson, and saw a shotgun and knife sitting nearby. [WITNESS #1] stated he unloaded the shotgun and tossed it on the couch and threw the knife but was unsure where it landed. [WITNESS #1] further stated Richardson became aggressive and stated they can fight if they need to which led [WITNESS #1] to leave and began speaking with the neighbors. [WITNESS #1] directed officers towards the apartment.

I walked around back and saw Richardson sitting on the back porch. Richardson stated after leaving downtown they began drinking. Richardson stated [VICTIM #1] and himself had too much to drink and got into a tussle. When asked to explain further he stated after a regular relationship argument over not caring enough about each other, [VICTIM #1] slapped him. Richardson stated he pushed her after this but was unable to go into further details on the events that occurred. Richardson admitted things had been physical in the past.

I was alerted by other officers who had probable cause to place Richardson under arrest. Richardson was placed into double-locking handcuffs per Milledgeville Police Department policy. Officers went inside with Richardson to grab him a pair of shoes and a t-shirt before he was placed in the back of my patrol vehicle and transported to the Baldwin County LEC without incident.
