On 08/09/2026, I responded to the Milledgeville Police Department in reference to a domestic incident that occurred at [500 BLOCK] GA Highway 24 East.
Upon arrival, I made contact with the complainant, [WITNESS #1]. [WITNESS #1] stated his stepson, Quantavious King, assaulted [VICTIM #1], the mother of King’s child. [WITNESS #1] reported he heard a commotion coming from a bedroom and went to investigate. When he reached the doorway, he observed King choking and punching [VICTIM #1]. [WITNESS #1] yelled for King to release [VICTIM #1]. King then stood up and approached [WITNESS #1] in an aggressive manner as if attempting to fight him. Fearing King would begin striking him, [WITNESS #1] removed [VICTIM #1] from the residence, placed her in his vehicle, and drove directly to the Milledgeville Police Department.
I then spoke with [VICTIM #1], who was crying in pain and holding her right side. [VICTIM #1] stated she and King began arguing after she dropped their child, [REDACTED], off with King’s aunt. [VICTIM #1] stated King became angry, began yelling, and struck her multiple times. When she attempted to get away, King grabbed her and threw her against a wall several times, causing her to fall to the floor. During the assault, King bit [VICTIM #1] on her cheek and grabbed her by the throat, choking her.
I asked [VICTIM #1] what she felt when King placed his hands around her neck. [VICTIM #1] stated she could barely breathe and believed she was going to lose her life. While speaking with [VICTIM #1], I observed and photographed a bite mark on her right cheek, scratch marks on her leg, and a fingernail that had been ripped off. [VICTIM #1] also stated her right-side ribs were hurting from being slammed against the wall and floor. [VICTIM #1] was turned over to EMS for treatment.
While speaking with [WITNESS #1] and [VICTIM #1], Dispatch advised King had called 911 three separate times stating he was being “set up”. Dispatch further advised the 911 location ping showed [1100 BLOCK] Highland Avenue. I responded to [1100 BLOCK] Highland Avenue along with other deputies. After searching the area, King was located hiding behind the residence in a corner behind a wall and tree.
I advised King of his Miranda Rights. After stating he understood, King agreed to speak with me. When asked what occurred between him and [VICTIM #1], King stated they argued about their child and how [VICTIM #1] treats him. King then stood up and stated he knew he was going to jail and wanted to “get it over with”.
King was placed in handcuffs behind his back, checked for proper fit, and double-locked. He was placed in the rear seat of my patrol vehicle and secured with a seat belt. King was transported to the Baldwin County Jail and turned over to jail staff without incident.
Due to physical evidence and statements, I secured warrants on King for Aggravated Assault by Strangulation – Family violence and Battery – Family Violence.
