I was dispatched to [300 BLOCK] Old Monticello Road in reference to an assault.

Rendall stated he instructed [VICTIM #1] to leave his residence and chased him out of the house and down the road. When questioned about [VICTIM #1]’s injuries, Rendall stated that he “is not a liar” and could not speak on that subject.

Sergeant White made contact with dispatch to verify the name [VICTIM #1] provided for the offender. Dispatch advised Sergeant White that [VICTIM #1] had advised them that [REDACTED] was the offender. Because [VICTIM #1] did not name his stepfather as the offender, I obtained Rendall’s information and advised him we would contact him after further investigation.

I made contact with [VICTIM #1] in the Navicent Health Baldwin emergency room. I was informed by medical personnel that [VICTIM #1] [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. I asked [VICTIM #1] who hurt him, and he stated Rendall Chamblee. I had [VICTIM #1] repeat the name, due to the fact that it sounded like he was saying [REDACTED]. I verified with [VICTIM #1] that he meant Rendall Chamblee, to which he stated, “yes, my stepfather.”

[VICTIM #1] stated that he and Rendall got into an argument over the potatoes at dinner, and Rendall became angry. [VICTIM #1] stated Rendall grabbed him by the head and slammed his head into the door beside the kitchen. [VICTIM #1] stated he began to bleed heavily from his face. [VICTIM #1] stated he tried to run away and Rendall chased him down the road before Rendall went back to the residence. I observed a laceration to [VICTIM #1]’s right cheek and excessive swelling consistent with his recount of events.
