I was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Gordon Avenue in reference to a domestic.

The complainant, [WITNESS #1], advised dispatch that her friend, [VICTIM #1], texted her stating her husband, Ronald Jackson, hit her face and took her phone.

Upon arrival, I made contact with [VICTIM #1] in the front yard. [VICTIM #1] pointed to the back yard and stated Ronald was attempting to run away. I went to the backyard and could hear Ronald crossing over a metal fence onto the next property over. I advised Deputy Henderson of Ronald’s direction of travel, and began running that way myself. I witnessed Ronald walking through the back yard of another property. I told him to stop but he did not listen to my command. Deputy Henderson joined me in searching for him. We located Ronald in the front yard of the property and he surrendered to us, stating he was tired. Ronald was arrested and placed into the back seat of my patrol car.

Deputy Henderson went to speak with [VICTIM #1]. I read Ronald his Miranda Warnings and he agreed to speak with me. Ronald stated that [VICTIM #1] had gone through his phone and seen that he had a white girl in his contacts. Ronald stated [VICTIM #1] believed he was cheating on her and told him to get out. Ronald stated that they argued but he never put his hands on her and he had no clue how [VICTIM #1] got injured. Ronald stated he began packing his car to leave when law enforcement showed up. Ronald stated he ran because he was scared.

I then spoke with [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] stated Ronald had gotten extremely upset while they were arguing. [VICTIM #1] stated he began throwing things inside the house. I observed the living room of the residence had things thrown all about the floor and couch. [VICTIM #1] stated she ran to her neighbor’s house to get help and Ronald followed her. [VICTIM #1] stated that Ronald grabbed her and threw her off the neighbors porch, causing her to scrape her wrist. I observed a large scrape on her right wrist with some bruising. [VICTIM #1] stated that after she and Ronald were back inside their residence, Ronald grabbed her by the neck and slammed her head into a door. [VICTIM #1] stated that this made her fear for her life. I observed slight bruising around [VICTIM #1]’s neck.

I took pictures of [VICTIM #1]’s injuries. I transported Ronald to the jail and turned him over to jail staff without further incident. Warrants have been secured for Aggravated Assault Family Violence and Obstruction of Officers (misdemeanor).
