On 09/04/2025 at approximately 0650 hours, I was dispatched to Edgewood Park Apartment [REDACTED], [2600 BLOCK] North Columbia Street, in reference to a fight ongoing.
Upon arrival, I observed Shymecia Lewis, Mykia Whipple, and Shaneria Lewis, standing outside of building six in a verbal argument. Although all three subjects were yelling and screaming Shaneria grabbed majority of my attention due to her screaming while holding a broom stick in her hand and moving around in an intimidating manner. Several attempts were made to Shaneria to take deep breaths and step away from the altercation to be able to calm down. Although Shaneria walked away for a moment, she returned and continued to behave in an aggressive manner when she slammed the broom stick on the ground causing pieces to fly off it.
Due to Shaneria continuing to escalate her intimidating behavior, I approached her and attempted to place her in custody. Shaneria failed to comply with verbal commands to place her hands behind her back and continued to pull her arms away to avoid being placed in custody. Moments later, I was able to secure Shaneria in custody.
I contacted Shymecia to which she advised she was inside the apartment going through her boyfriend’s phone when a verbal argument started. Shymecia advised Whipple arrived on scene later and started a physical fight with her. Shymeica stated she was defending herself and struck Whipple during the fight.
I contacted Whipple which she stated she arrived at the apartment per, Shaneria’s request. Whipple stated she told Shymecia to exit the residence multiple times, however, she started a physical fight with her. Whipple advised due to Shymecia being the primary aggressor she was defending herself when she struck her back.
Shaneria was transported to Baldwin County Law Enforcement Center, 119 Old Monticello Road without incident. On Shymecia I observed what appears to be a laceration on the right-side cheek of her face. Shymecia and Whipple were given warning on the Affray.
A warrant for Obstruction and a citation for Disorderly Conduct was secured on Shaneria Lewis. Shymecia Lewis was served with a notice of prohibited entry per Whipple’s request. A use of force report was completed.
