On 04/04/2023 at approximately 1654 hours, Officer John Childress and I contacted the complainant/victim, [VICTIM #1], in reference to a physical altercation having occurred with her boyfriend, Terrell Turner.

Upon contact with [VICTIM #1], I was able to observe blood coming from her nose and running down her face from an apparent injury. Prior to beginning he investigation, [VICTIM #1] advised she did not need to be seen by EMS personnel for injury.

[VICTIM #1] advised when she returned home from work, Turner was in an agitated mood which she suspected to be caused by a combination of alcohol and cocaine usage. While there were no signs of any drug activity, Turner was visibly intoxicated during our investigation which was made apparent by the glassy look of his eyes and the smell of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person. [VICTIM #1] stated Turner approached her in an aggressive manner without provocation and struck her in the face while she was in the kitchen area of the residence. [VICTIM #1] then stated in order to defend herself, she picked up a glass food container and threw it at Turner, which was made evident by the large quantity of shattered glass laying in the entryway of the residence. [VICTIM #1] said once she threw the glass jar at Turner, she exited the residence and waited for law enforcement to arrive on scene.

After speaking with [VICTIM #1], contact was then made with Turner who stated when [VICTIM #1] came home, she began to accuse him of cheating on her. Turner stated due to her acting the way she was, he told her to leave the residence. Turner then stated [VICTIM #1] became irate which is when she threw the glass jar at him. Turner then stated he tried pushing [VICTIM #1] out of the door to deescalate the situation.

Due to [VICTIM #1]’ visible injuries, and conflicting statements made by both Turner and her, Turner was placed into double locked handcuffs per department policy and transported to the Baldwin County Law Enforcement Center without incident. A warrant for battery family violence was sworn against Turner. Photographs of Turner’s injuries (which were tended to prior to photographs being taken) were added to the report.
