[NARRATIVE #1 on October 01, 2025]

On October 1, 2025, Deputy Motes responded to Patels Grocery in reference to theft.

Once on scene, Deputy Motes met with [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she works for [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and is a caretaker for [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated on the previous date, she was in possession of [REDACTED BY AGENCY] debit card at the request of [REDACTED BY AGENCY] so she could handle some business for [REDACTED BY AGENCY] on her behalf.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she got a phone call from Angel, who also works for [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and was on shift at [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] house, asking [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to bring [REDACTED BY AGENCY] debit card immediately. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she told Angel she would bring the debit card back once she was in the area which made Angel angry and she hung up the phone on [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she returned to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] house at approximately 1600 to drop off food and the debit card. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated while she was on scene, she overheard Angel ask [REDACTED BY AGENCY] for gas money to which [REDACTED BY AGENCY] did not respond.

Deputy Motes spoke with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] who confirmed the above mentioned statements by [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated after [REDACTED BY AGENCY] left the residence, Angel told [REDACTED BY AGENCY] she was going to get gas and would be back. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she did not physically see Angel take her debit card at this time.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated Angel was gone for a short length of time and returned stating she had gotten gas. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated at approximately 2050 on the previous night, she checked her South State banking app on her phone and observed two transactions made with her South State debit card. One was on September 30, 2025 at 1732 for $33.10 for gas, and the other was on September 30, 2025 at 1735 for $200 at an ATM. Both transactions showed the address of the transactions being at Patels Grocery.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] showed Deputy Motes the transactions on her South State bank account and he confirmed the above mentioned statements by [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. Due to Angel wanting the debit card returned by [REDACTED BY AGENCY], Angel requesting gas money from [REDACTED BY AGENCY], and then the transactions happening right after Angel left the residence saying she was going to get gas, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] believe Angel took [REDACTED BY AGENCY] debit card and used it at Patels Grocery. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] described Angel as a black female who drives a black in color Chevy Impala.

Deputy Motes went inside Patels Grocery and spoke with Mr. [WITNESS #1] (owner). Mr. [WITNESS #1] stated he remembered a black Chevy Impala at one of the gas pumps on the previous date around the approximate time the transactions were made. Mr. [WITNESS #1] stated he also remembers a black female wearing scrubs (uniform the caretakers wear) get out of the black Chevy Impala, walk inside, and use the ATM machine beside the front counter.

Mr. [WITNESS #1] stated he did not have record of the purchases because he clears out all purchase history at the start of each month, but stated he could get Deputy Motes surveillance footage of the incident. Mr. [WITNESS #1] stated he would have his son send the surveillance footage to Deputy Motes’ email.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated Angel started working for [REDACTED BY AGENCY] three weeks ago. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated over that three weeks, there has been approximately $1100 worth of transactions made on [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Wells Fargo bank account. Due to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] living in Franklin County, they did already report the incident to Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

Both [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] names are on the South State bank account, however, it was solely [REDACTED BY AGENCY] card which was used.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated Angel also works for [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in Gainesville, Ga, which is another caretaker service.

Deputy Motes contacted Forensic Analyst [REDACTED] who was able to get Angels vehicle information. Angels vehicle was listed as V1 in the report. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] will be reporting the incident with management.

At this time, Deputy Motes is still waiting on the surveillance footage from Mr. [WITNESS #1]’s son.

[NARRATIVE #3 on October 02, 2025]

On October 2, 2025, Deputy Motes spoke with Investigator Nichols who stated he had received the survellance footage of the incident from Mr. [WITNESS #1]’s son. Investigator Nichols showed Deputy Motes the surveillance footage on his work phone. Deputy Motes observed a black in color Chevy Impala parked at the gas pumps at Patels Grocery. Deputy Motes observed a black female wearing scrubs standing next to the Chevy Impala and then walk into the store.

Once inside the store, Deputy Motes was able to positively identify the black female subject as Angel based off her Georgia License return photograph. Deputy Motes observed Angel walk to the ATM machine inside the store and seemingly make a transaction prior to leaving the store. Investigator Nichols uploaded the footage to evidence.com.

Later in the day, Deputy Motes received a call for service stating a representative with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was wishing for Deputy Motes to place her a phone call to discuss the incident. Deputy Motes called the number and spoke with [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] asked Deputy Motes a few questions about the incident and concluded the conversation.

A few hours later, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] called Deputy Motes back and told him [REDACTED BY AGENCY] case manager had told her [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was now claiming she did give Angel permission to get gas with her debit card. Deputy Motes asked [REDACTED BY AGENCY] if anything was mentioned about the $200 transaction at the ATM to which she stated there was not. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated [REDACTED BY AGENCY] does have dementia but was dissapointed to hear Angel was seen on surveillance footage using the ATM.

Deputy Motes spoke with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in the phone and asked her if the unauthorized transactions on her bank account have caused her any mental anguish or worry to which she stated it has. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated the $200 transaction in particular has caused her mental anguish due to her needing that $200 to pay for her montage, and she currently is unsure how she is going to pay it.

At no time during Deputy Motes’ interactions with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] did her story change or did she repeat herself or seem confused.

An evidence.com link was sent to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to upload screenshots of the transactions made on her bank account.

Warrants will be obtained.
