[NARRATIVE #1 on March 01, 2026]

On March 1, 2026, Deputy Motes was in the area of Highway 98 at Carson Segars Road when he observed a gold in color Chevy Tahoe (later identified as V1) approach the stop sign on Carson Segars Road at Highway 98. V1 made a right turn onto Highway 98 and as it passed Deputy Motes saw a white male subject sitting in the front passenger seat, a white female subject sitting in the front middle seat, but could not see the driver at this time.

As V1 passed Deputy Motes, Deputy Motes observed V1 did not have a license plate displayed on the rear. At this time, Deputy Motes pulled onto Highway 98 and began attempting to catch up to V1 to conduct a traffic stop.

As Deputy Motes continued on Highway 98 and got around the first curve, he still could not see V1 which indicated to Deputy Motes V1 had likely accelerated at a higher than average speed based on how quickly Deputy Motes had pulled out to attempt to catch up to V1. Deputy Motes activated his emergency blue lights and siren and once he made it around the next curve, Deputy Motes clearly saw V1 approaching Indian Village Drive.

Deputy Motes then saw V1 make a right turn onto Indian Village Drive at a high rate of speed which caused V1 to briefly lose traction and slide sideways during the turn. Deputy Motes turned onto Indian Village Drive and saw dust coming up from the roadway continuing straight down Indian Village Drive.

Deputy Motes continued on Indian Village Drive and made it to a dead end with a body of water without locating V1. Corporal Pressley arrived in the area and located V1 parked down a small path in the woods which backs up to the property of Indian Village Drive.

Deputies approached V1 and found it to be empty. A neighbor approached deputies and advised them he had witnessed Brenda, who he stated he knows well and knows V1 to be hers, running through the woods away from V1 towards [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Indian Village Drive which is where she lives. Deputies followed the trail on foot and arrived at Brendas residence. Deputy Motes loudly knocked and announced his presence at the side door of the residence and advised the persons inside to come to the door.

After numerous times of attempting to get someone to the door, nobody came to the door and deputies did not hear any movement inside the residence. Deputies continued knocking and announcing at other doors of the residence, along with buildings on the property, but did not make contact with anyone.

While on scene, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] arrived and stated he was there to pick up his 13 year old [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated he has full legal custody of [REDACTED BY AGENCY], but he had allowed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to stay with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] mother, [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

[WITNESS #1] stated [REDACTED BY AGENCY] is Brendas daughter and all parties were supposed to be on scene. Deputies explained what was going on to [WITNESS #1] and he went to the side door of the residence and began knocking and calling out to get [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to the door. After numerous attempts to get [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to the door, nobody came out of the residence.

Due to not getting a response from anyone at the residence, deputies and [WITNESS #1] relocated to the top of the driveway at [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Indian Village Drive. After a short time passed, deputies suggested [WITNESS #1] go to the residence without deputies presence to see if he could get [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to come outside. [WITNESS #1] went to the residence alone and a short time later returned to deputies location with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and her 7 year old half [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [WITNESS #1] stated he has no relation to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] but her mother is [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and her father is [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

[WITNESS #1] stated when he approached the residence, someone inside opened the door, pushed and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] outside, and shut the door. [WITNESS #1] gave deputies permission to speak to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] about the Incident. Deputies observed both [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] appeared visually upset due to them crying. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated [REDACTED BY AGENCY], Brenda, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] all drove in V1 to go get [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and Brenda was the driver.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated as they were returning to the residence, they passed Deputy Motes’ location. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was sitting in the rear passenger seat and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was sitting in the rear middle seat of V1 at this time. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated when V1 passed Deputy Motes’ location, Brenda began driving fast. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated Brenda quickly turned onto Indian Village Drive and then turned onto the small path where V1 was discovered by deputies.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated when Brenda parked, she instructed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to run through the woods towards [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Indian Village Drive. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated Brenda was attempting to get away from Deputy Motes because she said she did not want to go to jail.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated [REDACTED BY AGENCY], [REDACTED BY AGENCY], [REDACTED BY AGENCY], and Brenda all ran to the house while [REDACTED BY AGENCY] ran into the woods and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was unsure where [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had went. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated while inside the residence, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] were sitting on the couch when she heard Deputy Motes knocking and announcing at the door. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated Brenda told them not to open the door.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated [REDACTED BY AGENCY] then heard [WITNESS #1] knocking at the door and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] began to go to the door at which time Brenda once again told her not to go to the door. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] continued crying while explaining the series of events to Deputy Motes, which led Deputy Motes to conclude the incident had caused them mental pain.

[WITNESS #1] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] have been granted legal guardianship of [REDACTED BY AGENCY] through the court. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] were contacted and responded to the scene.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] showed Deputy Motes a placement letter showing [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had been legally placed with them through the court. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] later sent Deputy Motes a copy of the court document granting [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] legal guardianship of [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was turned over to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] at the scene.

Deputy Motes obtained Brenda, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] information and ran them through GCIC. Deputy Motes discovered Brenda had an expired Georgia Drivers License which expired on [REDACTED BY AGENCY]/2019. Deputy Motes looked at the license photographs and was able to positively identify [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] as the front two passengers he saw as V1 passed his location.

Deputy Motes also discovered [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] have active arrest warrants out of other agencies. Deputy Motes believes [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] ran on foot from V1 after it stopped to elude Deputy Motes due to said warrants.

Next-list wrecker was called for V1. Deputy Motes inventoried V1 and located mail addressed to Brenda on the dash, as well as a black wallet in the front passenger floor which contained multiple debit cards belonging to Brenda. Seymours arrived on scene and took custody of V1. Tow log completed.

At this time, deputies have not made contact with Brenda, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], or [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

Warrants will be obtained.
