[NARRATIVE #1 on December 06, 2025]

On 12/6/2025 Cpl. Burnette conducted a follow-up investigation with Sergeant Alford in regards to this call.

During the investigation, deputies were able to identify the offender as Tammy Byam [REDACTED BY AGENCY] from jail calls with [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. During a jail call made by [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Byam stated that she had [REDACTED BY AGENCY] location and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had not returned her calls which made her fear something had happened to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (Byam and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] are boyfriend and girlfriend of 2 years).

Byam stated that she used an Uber to go from her location to the location [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was at [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Railroad Ave.). Byam stated when she arrived, she observed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and the victim, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] having intimate relations.

Byam stated that she became enraged and began pulling the AC units out of the window. During this time, Byam was let into the residence by [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. While inside the residence a physical altercation ensued and during this time [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was hit on the head and received a laceration to the side of her head. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] also had other marks on her person from the fight.

Deputies were advised that there was a gun used to strike [REDACTED BY AGENCY] on the head. When deputies asked Byam about the gun, Byam stated that she did have the firearm in her bag and did bring it with her to the location. Byam stated that she and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] always carry the firearm when they are out and about.

Byam stated it was in her bag and that she went into a rage of anger due to her observing [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in relations. Byam stated she never fired the gun at [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and that the gun stayed on safe the entire time.

Byam stated that after the altercation she left the scene in [REDACTED BY AGENCY] vehicle. Byam apologized for striking [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and asked deputies to tell [REDACTED BY AGENCY] that she was sorry and would pay for the damage she caused.

Deputies spoke to the victim, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] who stated that she and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] were having relations and that she didn’t know [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had a girlfriend. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] let Byam into the residence and Byam and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] began screaming at one another. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] asked them to leave if they were going to fight.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] then stated during the altercation, Byam pulled the pistol out of her bag and pointed it at her. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] then stated, Byam hit her in the head with the gun which caused a laceration to her head. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that after Byam tore the house up, hit her and hit [REDACTED BY AGENCY], and left the residence.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] was taken to the hospital where she received stitches in her head. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] also stated that she did want to press charges. Warrants were taken for Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, and Battery.

Byam was advised that she had active warrants and turned herself into the Banks County Sheriff’s Office at approximately 1200 hours on this date. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was charged with Obstruction (m) and Hindering Apprehension. He was arrested at the incident location.

[NARRATIVE #2 on December 06, 2025]

On December 6, 2025, at approximately 12:43am, I was dispatched to a burglary in progress, occurring at [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Railroad Ave., Lula.

Dispatch advised the caller, the main victim, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] that a female was attempting to break into the home at the above address. Dispatch continued to provide updates to include being able to hear a female in the background screaming and demanding to open the door.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] reported the female attempting to break in had ripped the air conditioning units out of the window and had pistol whipped her. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she had seen the firearm. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated the female was now in the home and dispatch could hear loud noises in the background that sounded like fighting.

Due to our response time being extended and the address being on the Hall County line, we asked for the Hall County Sheriff’s Office to start units to the address. Dispatch continued their updates and stated it sounded like the parties inside the home were physically fighting. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was heard on the 911 call telling both a male party and the female that had entered the house to leave.

Dispatch stated they could hear a female screaming “I know y’all was fu*king behind my back” and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] responding with “I didn’t know, I swear I didn’t know”! The last update from dispatch was they heard a loud banging noise and the line disconnected.

Deputy Lunsford arrived first with a Hall County unit at the same time. I arrived about thirty seconds after. Deputy Lunsford was advised by a witness that the offender had fled in a burgundy SUV into Lula. Deputy Lunsford approached the home and located [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and a black male, later identified as [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] was trying to explain that there was not a robbery, and was being aggressive. I met Deputy Lunsford and the Hall County deputy at the entrance to the house. The Hall County deputy remained out front with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] while Deputy Lunsford and I cleared the home.

While clearing the home, we found a refrigerator knocked over on its side and blocking a hall. Deputy Lunsford picked the refrigerator back upright which made a loud noise as he continued to check the home for any other persons. The noise caused by Deputy Lunsford pulling the refrigerator back upright caused [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to become even more upset and aggressive.

As Deputy Lunsford and I exited the house he tried to explain to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] what was going on. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was very aggressive and wanted to get his cellphone from inside the home so he could record us and put us on “live” on a social media platform of his choosing.

I tried to explain to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] what was relayed to us on 911 and why we arrived in the manner we did, however, he was so angry he continued to argue, curse and would not allow me to fully explain. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] began yelling at me saying “my girl, my girl came while I was fu*king her, period, that’s what it is, fix it my nig*a”.

While [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was yelling at me, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was telling Deputy Lunsford that the offender had ripped all her air conditioning units from the windows. I could see the air conditioning unit laying on the ground in front of the window at the front of the house. While standing in front of the house I could see [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had a laceration above her eye which was bleeding.

Deputy Lunsford went inside the home with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] so he could get his phone. While Deputy Lunsford was explaining the call for service to him, he stated “my girl” referring to the offender and admitted that he was having sex with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] when his girlfriend arrived.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated he was cheating and his girlfriend came through the house and “she wrecked the place type sh*t”. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] additionally stated his girlfriend knocked the refrigerator over twice. Deputy Lunsford asked [REDACTED BY AGENCY] what his girlfriend’s name was and he refused to provide it.

Deputy Lunsford continued to ask [REDACTED BY AGENCY] what his girlfriend’s name was and he replied “if that’s the case I did it” twice, continuing to refuse to provide her name. Deputy Lunsford then asked [REDACTED BY AGENCY] for his name, and he said “no” and then Deputy Lunsford asked [REDACTED BY AGENCY] if he was refusing to give him his name he stated “yep”.

I then asked [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and asked if she wanted to press charges. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she wanted to press charges.

Deputy Lunsford went back to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and asked again for his information. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] this time provided his first and last name but refused to provide his birthdate. I then walked over to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and asked for his first and last name or an ID. I asked four (4) times, and he stated he wanted his attorney.

At that time, I placed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in handcuffs, behind his back, double locking and checking for proper fit. After searching [REDACTED BY AGENCY] finding no items of concern he was placed in the backseat of my patrol car.

After, I called the on-call investigator, Investigator Nichols. Banks County EMS also arrived and began evaluating [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. Investigator Nichols eventually responded to the address with Crime Scene Tech [REDACTED], and I transported to the Banks County Jail where he was turned over to jail staff. After turning over to jail staff, I returned to the address to assist.

While [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was in the back of the ambulance, Deputy Lunsford asked her if she knew anything about the offender. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] told Deputy Lunsford that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] kept calling her [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

As we continued to investigate, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] other sent a screenshot to us from [REDACTED BY AGENCY] of a Facebook page. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] believed this was the offender who came into the house and pistol whipped her. The Facebook profile was of a [REDACTED] and [REDACTED].

Crime Scene Tech [REDACTED] collected several blood samples from inside the house, a pistol and a broken fingernail, believed to be from the offender, with blood on it. Those items were turned over to Corporal Craymer. Corporal Craymer took those items back to the Sheriff’s Office, logged them as evidence, and placed them into an evidence locker on behalf of Crime Scene Tech [REDACTED].

I applied for two (2) arrest warrants for [REDACTED BY AGENCY] one for Willful Obstruction of Law Enforcement O.C.G.A. 16-10-24 and one for Hindering Apprehension of a Criminal O.C.G.A. 16-10-50.

Before going out of service, I was notified by Deputy Lewis that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had contacted who we believed to be the offender through a recorded jail line. I was also notified by Central Operator [REDACTED] that a female called and asked questions about how to bond [REDACTED BY AGENCY] out of jail. The caller ID showed the name of [REDACTED] and the phone number of [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

I provided this information to Corporal Burnette and Investigator Nichols. When I returned to work my following shift, I was advised that both had spoken with the offender, later identified as Tammy Byam (See Corporal Burnette’s supplemental report). Byam admitted to the events described above and warrants were taken by Corporal Burnette and/or Investigator Nichols.

Byam later turned herself in at the jail and was charged with the following:

-Aggravated Assault O.C.G.A. 16-5-21.
-Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony O.C.G.A. 16-11-106.
-Battery O.C.G.A. 16-5-23.1.

I learned that Byam had admitted to the facts listed above and admitted to physically assaulting [REDACTED BY AGENCY] after entering the home. I noticed what appeared to be swelling above [REDACTED BY AGENCY] right eye but did not ask him about it because of how uncooperative he had been.

The injury I had seen on [REDACTED BY AGENCY] eye had later turned into a black eye. I also learned that Byam and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] have been living together for two (2) years. With the new information I have obtained, I have determined there was an act of family violence committed during that time.

The warrants for Criminal Damage to Property were not taken because at the time the victim had not provided a list of items that were damaged and their loss amounts. On December 7, 2025, I spoke to the owner of the home, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], and the original victim, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], and both provided me with a list of items that were broken and their estimated value.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated the following items that belong to her were damaged:

-Two (2) double paned windows (front and back).
-One (1) refrigerator.
-One (1) front door/door knob.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated the value of the three (3) items listed above is $6,000.00.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated the following items that belong to her were damaged:

-One (1) Television.
-Two (2) air conditioning units.
-Two (2) side/coffee tables.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated the value of the three (3) items listed above is $700.00.

I have applied for three (3) more warrants for Byam.

One (1) for Battery FVA O.C.G.A. 16-5-23.1 for the admission of physically assaulting [REDACTED BY AGENCY], resulting in a black eye.
One (1) for Criminal Damage to Property (f) O.C.G.A. 16-7-23 for the damage caused to the property belonging to [REDACTED BY AGENCY].
One (1) for Criminal Damage to Property (f) O.C.G.A. 16-7-23 for the damage caused to the property belonging to [REDACTED BY AGENCY].
