On 3/4/26 I Deputy Antwune McCurry was dispatched to University Parkway Westbound at the intersection of Patrick Mill Road in regarding a motor vehicle crash. While enroute to the crash I was notified by Barrow County E-911 that one vehicle was attempting to flee the scene of the accident.

The driver on scene was able to provide a physical description of the vehicle who fled the scene identifying the vehicle to be a 2021 white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck barring registration [REDACTED]. As I was attempting to locate the accident scene, I then observed a vehicle matching the physical fleeing away from the direction of the accident scene turning onto Patrick Mill Road.

I was able to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle and contacted the male driver of the Chevrolet Silverado. I exited my patrol vehicle using a driver’s side approach.

As I approached, I observed the vehicle sustained visible front-end damage. During the encounter with the male driver who identified himself to be Abraham Andres Guzman I spoke to him brief about being involved in a motor vehicle crash. He immediately verbally admitted to being involved in the motor vehicle crash. He later stated that he fled the scene due to him being afraid that immigration would be involved and he was unlicensed.

I then returned to my patrol and conducted a Gcic-Ncic status check of information provided. During the status check it revealed that Abraham license was currently suspended revoked.

Later assisted on scene by Deputy C Arango. I then conducted the crash investigation (See Accident report 2026-00014289). Once accident report concluded it was determined that Abraham was Following to closely which resulted in motor vehicle crash.

I then placed Abraham under arrest. He was then cuffed in the rear. Cuffs were then double locked and fitted for tightness. Offender was secured in the rear of my patrol vehicle and seat belt in.

Vehicle was then released to an authorized family member who responded to the scene [REDACTED].

Abraham was then transported to Northeast Georgia Barrow Medical Center for medical clearance.

Once cleared he was transported to Barrow County Detention Center and released to staff for processing.

I citied and served Abraham with the following traffic charges:

138261- Hit and Run: Duty of driver to stop or return to scene of accident 40-6-270 (A)
138262-Driving with Suspended revoked license 40-5-121
138263- Following too closely 40-6-49 (A).
