[NARRATIVE #1 on December 11, 2026]
On December 11, 2025, at 0841 hours, I responded Code 1 to [400 BLOCK] Harmony Ln and a domestic dispute.
While enroute to the call, I learned that the caller’s, Ms. [VICTIM #1], son was having a mental crisis. Her son is Mr. Devin Hensen. She explained that he was schizophrenic and was “destroying” the house. She stated that he was not violent towards her.
Upon arrival, Deputy Daniels and I met with Mr. Henson at the front door. In addition to his normal clothing, he was wearing a partial mask, leaving his eyes exposed. It became clear immediately that he was suffering a mental health crisis as he was saying that he “needed a black eye” and other non-sensical things. When I asked if we could do anything to help him, he looked at me and said “I don’t think you can, but he can (indicating Dep Daniels).” I advised him that he can speak with Deputy Daniels, but for officer safety, I would just be in the background. He then said he could come into the house, and I reminded him that I would also be coming in. He stated that I could “sit with the white noise.”
He then asked if he “could use that right quick.” When I asked to use what, he indicated my Taser (Conducted Energy Weapon, aka CEW) and stated “Taser, Taser, Taser!” Between his attempts to isolate Deputy Daniels and I and his comments about needing a black eye and wanting to use my Taser, I became more concerned that Hensen would become combative. We asked again if he wanted to go inside or stay outside. He nodded his head toward the door and said, “Come on.”
Just as Deputy Daniels began to cross the threshold, Henson turned around, placed his hand on Deputy Daniels and began to yell “You’re not allowed!” I drew my CEW and reached for his left arm. While doing so, Henson repeated stated “Tase me.” We pulled Hensen out to the front porch and I ordered him to place his hands behind his back. He immediately pulled away, resisting our efforts to detain him. He asked to place the cuffs in the front. He was not complying with multiple commands to turn around. Using my CEW, I conducted a drive-stun on Hensen’s right thigh in an attempt to gain compliance. He responded by saying “Thank you!” and then turned towards Deputy Daniels and swung his right fist at him. Deputy Daniels was able to take Henson to the ground, but Hensen was attempting to stand back up.
I aimed my CEW at Hensen and deployed two probes, one struck him on his left lower back and the other impacted his thick, canvas belt above his right hip. I could not achieve neuromuscular incapacitation (NMI) and Hensen continued to resist Deputy Daniels. I then deployed two more probes, one into each upper thigh and followed up with placing my CEW against his right thigh while it was active. I was able to achieve NMI on the second attempt. Deputy Daniels and I were then able to roll him to his stomach and place handcuffs on Hensen. I then checked for proper fit and double locked to prevent the cuffs from tightening further as other units were arriving on scene. Hensen turned to thank us.
I then began to remove the probes from Hensen. Two of the probes fell out during the handcuffing, and I was able to remove the remaining two. I later confirmed that the probes were all intact and that no portion of the probes remained in Hensen.
It was at this time, I learned that Deputy Daniels had been struck in the face during the struggle and had sustained a bloody nose. He tended to his nose while Deputy Arango and I searched Hensen. During the search, Hensen again started to willfully resist our efforts to search him and kicking out with his feet. I rolled him his stomach and placed my weight on him. I told him to slow down and relax. He continued to struggle for a bit more but eventually calmed down enough that we could place Hensen into a patrol car.
I then collected the CEW wires and probes and spoke with Ms. [VICTIM #1]. I asked to come in as we were told that her son was “destroying the house.” She confirmed that Hensen had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and had spent some time in a mental hospital about a year prior, but that he refused to take his medications.
She explained that he had torn the thermostat off the wall and punched a hole in the bedroom door. When Deputy Arango and I went inside, I was able to verify the damage she described. She stated that he had stayed up all night, screaming and barking outside. She confirmed that Hensen did not touch them prior.
When medical services arrived, I asked them to evaluate both Deputy Daniels and Mr. Hensen. Deputy Arango removed Hensen from the patrol car. Hensen then broke free from Arango and began to run on foot away from him. Deputy Arango quickly regained control. We attempted to take Hensen to the ambulance, but he began to become non-compliant by stiffening up and attempting to walk away again. We had to take Hensen to the grass once more to prevent him from falling on the pavement.
I grew concerned that Hensen would become combative in the ambulance and the confined space would make it difficult to maintain control of him. I decided that we would take him to the hospital. When we attempted to place Hensen in the patrol vehicle, he refused our orders and would not get into the vehicle. All efforts to place him in the vehicle were not successful.
Because of his non-compliance, Hensen was [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and placed into the ambulance. Deputy Daniels rode in the ambulance with Hensen and crew to the hospital. He remained with Hensen while at the ER. Due to his condition and behavior, medical personnel eventually [REDACTED BY AGENCY]him further and began to plan to transport to NGHS-Braselton ICU for observation.
I have probable cause to seek warrants for the following:
16-5-23.1, Battery, in that Mr. Hensen did intentional strike the victim, causing Deputy Daniels’ nose to bleed,
16-10-24(b), Willful obstruction of law enforcement, in that Mr. Hensen did knowingly and willfully resists, obstructs, or opposes law enforcement officers while in the lawful discharge of their duties by striking Deputy Daniels in the face,
16-10-52, Escape, in that Mr. Hensen, while in lawful custody for a felony charge, did pull away from Deputy Arango and flee on foot while moving him from a patrol unit to an ambulance to receive medical treatment,
16-7-21, Criminal Trespass (FV), in that Mr. Hensen knowingly and maliciously interfere with the possession or use of a thermostat by ripping it from the wall and punching a hole in a bedroom door in his mother’s residence without her consent.

[NARRATIVE #2 on December 11, 2026]
On December 11, 2025, at approximately 0843 hours, I responded “code 1” (non-emergent) to [400 BLOCK] Harmony Lane, Auburn, Georgia in reference to a domestic dispute. Per dispatch notes it stated the son is schizophrenic and having an episode destroying the house. It was also added he is not being physical with the caller but is punching the walls along with a description of the male.
Upon arrival, Deputy Jackson and I went to the front door, and I knocked on the door. Seconds later a male wearing a gray hoodie and black pants with a black ski mask on answered the door. Due to the call notes I recognized this was the male that was having the mental episode. I then began asking the male later identified as Devin Henson, what was going on? Devin responded with crazy statements but was able to make some sense of what was happening.
I asked Devin if it was okay if he stepped outside so I could speak with him, but he responded with hesitation and stated along the lines of no. I then asked Devin if it was alright if I came inside to talk with him and he agreed but wanted Deputy Jackson to stay outside. Deputy Jackson responded to Devin stating due to officer safety I’m going to go inside as well but I’ll let y’all talk.
At this time Devin’s mother appeared behind Devin and was observed crying. Devin then motioned me inside with a hand gesture along with stating come on. I then walked up the steps to the landing of the residence front door and was about to enter but Devin put a hand in front of me to prevent myself from entering. Devin showed signs of agitation at this time, and he took his hand in a backwards motion and pushed it forward towards my direction. As this took place, I grabbed Devin’s hand and told him to put his hands behind his back. Devin pulled away during this time to try and attempt to retreat back inside but due to me having a hold to one of his arms I was able to assist Devin out the front door. I gave multiple commands for Devin to place his hands behind his back but was met with resistance and evasive maneuvers.
During this time Deputy Jackson helped with commands and attempting to grab the other arm so we could apply handcuffs to Devin. Devin started to scream and yell during this point as Deputy Jackson had drive stunned Devin in the upper thigh area. Devin then grabbed a hold of myself in a bear hug movement while I had my arms positioned up around Devin’s head area in an attempt to restrain his upper body and then flung myself and himself to the ground while I held onto his head area. Once on the ground, Devin landed on his back with me landing on my side in a mounted position restraining his head area still. I could then hear the sound of a taser deploy during this time with loud commands of put your hands behind your back. Devin tried to stand up at this time, and I pushed my wait down on his upper body area to attempt to regain control. A second pop was heard from the taser during this altercation with Devin going stiff.
I readjusted my position due to knowing the taser had achieved neuromuscular incapacitation and moved to a place where I could work on bringing his arms behind his back. Deputy Jackson then assisted me with rolling Devin to his stomach where he then sat on Devin’s back helping keep Devin’s arms behind his body. I then placed handcuffs on Devin that were then double locked by Deputy Jackson and ensured proper fitment.
Once Devin was in custody Deputy Jackson and Deputy Arango stayed with Devin while I stepped aside, due to noticing my nose pouring blood. Med 4 personnel arrived on scene at this point and rendered aid to me and Devin. Once I was cleared, I returned to help assist with placing Devin inside the patrol vehicle. Devin further resisted in the many attempts to place him inside the vehicle with him being eventually taken down to the ground. While on the ground Med 4 personnel came to talk with us about giving Devin a [REDACTED BY AGENCY] so he would calm down enough to be taken to the hospital to be cleared. Devin was then given a [REDACTED BY AGENCY] shot after it was decided it would be the best course of action by all personnel.
Once the shot was administered, Med 4 loaded Devin onto the stretcher with help and was placed in the back of the ambulance. I then rode in the back of the ambulance with Med 4 personnel to Northeast Georgia Barrow Hospital due to Devin being in our custody and still actively not complying.
At the hospital I observed nurses and doctors assessing Devin in attempts to get him to calm down. While I was at the Hospital Devin received around 4 to 7 additional [REDACTED BY AGENCY] shots with no change in behavior. The doctors discussed at this time the best plan would be to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Devin and go from there. After the [REDACTED BY AGENCY] process the doctors advised me Devin would be transported to Northeast Georgia Braselton Hospital ICU to be monitored and evaluated for a 10-13. I released Devin from our custody and turned him over to the hospital staff at this time.
